2025 Recruitment And Retention

I don’t believe for a second that he’s only on $450k. He’s already been paid for 6 months and I’ve seen some Roosters fans say he’s actually on $650k

From memory most of the reports at the time were that it was $600k. Toohey said the Knights offered $500k and that the Roosters paid more.

If the Roosters want to offload him, I’d imagine the Knights want them to pay about $250k per season because they’re not going to pay more than they were prepared to offer when he was killing it.

Also, the Roosters wouldn’t be that desperate to get rid of him if he was only on $450k

Remember the Jamie Burher re-signing fiasco of 2018? I can see something similar here. Like we think Dom is coming back but we’re actually just re-signing someone like Kyle McCarthy.

Sully not bending and the Rorters don’t like it as a guess. They feel just because he built their title roster he will do mates rates.

Maybe someone called BS on the Chooks claiming Dom is only on 450K. Wouldn’t be any of their cheerleaders on Fox League.

Wasn’t it well known that Dom’s Roosters salary was made up of a lot of third party benefits? That may help explain the discrepancy between the reported salaries then and now.

Gee, it'd be a terrible thing if the back and forward on a Roosters players salary negotiation uncovered a Melbourne like salary cap breach and Uncle Nick's Brown paper bags.

Please let this unfold.

It will be all the more lovely to watch since the NRL will have signed off on the TPA's that are apparently not an inducement to play for that particular club, but never would have eventuated unless they signed for that club, and happened to occur right when the player signed for the club.

What a coincidence.
