2025 Recruitment And Retention

If we do get him (which seems like we are) get ready for Schiller to be demanding a release and I don’t blame him, hasn’t done anything to get dropped 4 tries, averaging 130 metres, put in a good display against the bunnies.

Those saying he is the slowest winger really don’t know what they are taking about or are just trying to over exaggerate for effect, he did burn someone on the outside in that same game, people forget he is a CENTRE filling in at wing his pace for centre is good, just not for a winger, he has literally said in interviews he is a centre, right now he is performing so he should stay until injury or poor form allows it.

He would rightfully feel pissed about getting dropped for zero reason barring “he played here before”.

I’m all for Young joining, he is a great player but I also expected us to be professional like Melbourne and not just gift players positions and make them work for it, otherwise it shows anyone can just be put it and you dont have to work hard.

But I get why the Roosters, Melbourne etc are much more successful because they make people earn their spots, we don’t, another reason why he wants to return he knows he won’t get dropped or even made to get his spot back.

Just my opinion on the recruitment

I think it’s a combo of Young struggling and Mark Nawa looking like an absolute gun so early into his league career, so they thought Dom was expendable. But you don’t give up on a young guy like Dom after a season in my opinion.

Also agree about the “not working for it” part, but he was kinda on his way to being one of our best ever wingers if he stayed with us long term.

You did see him the week before didn’t you?

His performance against the Warriors was diabolical. Although other than that he hasn't been too bad.

Lowkey Gamble and Young had a nice combo going aswell. Can’t see Cogger with a cutout pass; no look pass or kick for Dom happening much. Gamble willing to take risks at times to feed Dom.

Just nitpicking, I thought Cogger played well last week.

I’m on the fence. If Schiller has a solid game this weekend then I think it’s a bad look to drop him for Young the following week. How much did we sign Schiller for anyways?

I don’t even think it’s a question who’ll be the right winger the moment Dom is available for the Knights (assuming it happens). Simply put - if the Knights were as worried about keeping Schiller in first grade or avoiding hurting his feelings as some of the people on here they wouldn’t be publicly courting another winger.

Regardless of current form we know what Dom can be and already has been in the right situation. That will get him the benefit of the doubt every day of the week over what Schiller has shown. If he keeps floundering like he was at the Roosters then you reassess.
