2025 Recruitment And Retention

We will not be signing a top 7 or anyone else unless we move a few on and the must be around $500K plus, the amount we get will depend on value as well as number of bodies.
If all tapped decide to stay then we are the same side as this season plus and minus players that do little to improve our situation.

3 year extension based on ten decent games ridiculous in my book.

And what was the market for AOB exactly. Another example in the long list of bidding against ourselves.

And we'd made the finals when before AOB? Like it or lump it the club has improved under him, and we are a decent chance of making the finals for yet another year.

We lost Ponga for the best part of year, Best, Frizell, Lucas, Gamble, Elliot, Saifiti's all out for long stints.

Sorry but his had his excuses and we are still on the cusp of the 8, if Ponga, Friz, Lucas, Gamble all stay fit we are sitting around 5 at worst.

Complain all you want about Obi ball but it gets results.

If we sneak into the 8 this year .. big if i know. We have a coach who has taken us to the finals 4 times in 5 seasons, His the most succesful knights coach in win % in any era johns wasnt playing also.
if he was deemed to be the problem at the club we wouldnt be having a mass roster overhaul right now, we would appoint a new coach prior. His no chance of getting the sack.

3 finals appearances for a grand total of 1 win. If they fall *** over head in again this year I have no faith that they’ll add to that either. Last year was the only time we’ve looked like half a chance of actually mattering in the finals and evidently it was a blip on the radar rather than an actual step towards becoming a team that matters.

“More successful than previous coaches” is such a low bar, but this is the club that rates not finishing in the bottom 5 as an achievement worthy of an extra year on the coaches contract so it checks out.

How many other clubs have played finals at 80% over the last 5 years? Wouldnt be more than 4 or 5.

One of 7 teams to do it in 3 of the last 4. All but 1 (Sharks) have more wins in single years than the Knights have total, but if just being the best of the mediocre teams that make up the numbers is an achievement then we're doing pretty good.

Seen a couple of posts on reddit today with Eels fans claiming they've signed Leo Thompson and Jayden Brailey as well as Blake Wilson from the Dogs.

I think it’s actually 8.

Melbourne (every year)
Penrith (every year)
Souths (20, 21, 22)
Easts (every year)
Cronulla (20, 22, 23)
Parramatta (20, 21, 22)
Canberra (20, 22, 23)
Us (20, 21, 23)

Souths, Parra and Canberra won’t make it 4 out of 5 though.

Yeh right😂 neither can get game time in teams below us. It’s a recruitment master stroke. Bring in whoever you like, nobody comes to the knights and gets better. It’s not a current player problem. Look at this years recruitment, Cartwright, Jenkins, Cogger, all came with hope and had what we were hoping them to bring coached out of them. For the record, if Ricky had the knights roster, they would be sitting a lot higher than we are👍
Cartwright was always signed as depth, especially with Lucas' breakout. Cogger has shown nothing outside of one of the best teams of all-time (for a few games). Jenkins just very average coming from a great system.
