I was happy to go into the 700’s, as a calculated gamble on him reaching the same level as the likes of Leota and Fish, but as it stands he’s on that tier below. He may get to that top tier. He may not. Not something we need to worry about now.
$900K is close to what Tapine gets and it’s more than Carrigan is paid. So ultimately I think Peter did the right thing to set a hard limit, as disappointed as I am that he’s leaving.
He’s very good. He’s also closer to Josh King’s level than he is to Tapine’s. We could probably bring Josh King back for a number starting with a 4.
$900K+ should be reserved for spine players and absolute top tier props whose value can’t under any circumstances be recreated in the aggregate. I say this begrudgingly because I think replacing him will be easier said than done, but it’s at least possible, in a way that replacing someone like Kalyn likely isn’t.
A lot of pressure in my mind on Cody Hopwood to be on that Isaah Yeo level of middle forwards now though.

I don’t doubt that Leo will go on to be a great player, but I’m glad we didn’t feed the ego and give what he was asking for. That’s just hurting the club.
I wouldn’t go dissing him and his abilities. He will be good. We also have plenty of talent in front row who will be just as good in the next year or so.
I will say. I thought B. Jones was way ahead of him by mid to late last year.

I can't believe the $900k is accurate, that just seems insane money. We did the right thing pulling out if that's what he's getting. Good luck to him, I'd be taking it too!

There's only a few props I'd considering paying $900k for. Leo isn't one of them.
Tapine, Haas, AFB and Leota are the only ones I'd consider.

O'sullivan is in charge and we have to give him time to sort the club out.
We have to be the Pantene Knights, it won't happen overnight, but it will happen.
The true shame to all this is the Knights are a basket case with TPA's. Where we could have offered the middles we need on lower salary cap money with a TPA, we just don't have access to them from past reports. So we can't compete.

No corporate head offices in Newy .Only third party deal here would be a car to drive

POS has his work cut out for him. Bit different to recruiting for the Phins where players had the allure of playing under mastercoach Bennett. Here we have AOB. A decent but not great coach to this point. How he sells a vision for this club for marquee players will be interesting.

In my eyes he is part of the attraction and retention issues.

The Knights were built on a gritty, ugly, work ethic that meant other teams didn't look forward to playing us. They knew they were in for a tough game and were going home hurting. That's what AOB is trying to instil again.
