2025 Recruitment And Retention

As Cody Hopwood does not have a top 30 contract next year, that means we have a top 30 place available.

So our development players next year are Hopwood, Votano, McCarthy, T Thompson and De Courcey?

All clubs are allowed up to 6 development players so who's going to be the last player to join those guys?

Development squad changed this season, it's now called supplemental list and can have more than 6 but not sure on the exact number. Malachi Smith is another one who's been reported as signed to that.

With AOB as coach I'm surprised Schiller isn't a foward
Now that’s funny, just what I needed after our pre season’s half back search.
I guess I shouldn’t laugh though, anything possible at the Knights.
If there is a way to screw new players up, the knights seem to find it.
Coach just needs to spend the off season working players and positions out so we have a chance of a good start to the year.

AOB despite his critics is probably the best development coach we have had in about 20 years.

His a lot better than brown ever was.
I think it is an area he has improved in a lot. I thought early on he was scared to elevate guys. And realistically, the list of guys who have come through and debuted for him contains a large number who aren't here any more. But the guys who were integrated last year did very well, and I think obi gained a fair bit of confidence out of it.

We probably need to keep a few spots open till we see who thrives with the extra training.
Every year you see someone go really well - last year Fletcher Sharpe and Jye Linnane - the year before Kyle McCarthy etc.
This year it could be any of the young guys who just takes to 40 to 60 hours training a week like a duck to water.
My early tip is Greacen - he seems like a man on a mission.

For what it's worth, Kyle McCarthy has been removed from the top 30 profiles.
The invisable man now doesn't have a firstgrade or reserve grade profile, but he is that big guy standing atthe back of al the training photos. Hard to miss.
