The problem isn't necessarily the number but rather the quality, 80% of Klems offloads are him backing into a 3-man tackle getting held up and struggling to pop a ball to the 9 that everyone knows is coming with that player quickly getting tackled and often us losing ground. It's all very predictable, it's half Klems fault and half the rest of the side/coaching that we don't take better advantage of them. When he's in those positions he is no chance of breaking through the tackle so everybody knows the offload is the only option and therefore wraps up the intended receiver.
In that sense his offloads overwhelmingly aren't equivalent to a TPJ, Kikau, Tapine, NAS because those guys supplement the offloads with a running threat that keeps defences honest and their offloads are variable, coming from any position in the tackle.
That's why his offload to set up the try last weekend was so good, instead of standing in the tackle and trying to milk PCMs while the defence can get set up for the offload he just made first contact dragging 3 defenders in and immediately popped the ball out the back to Milf while those 3 are still holding him. As such the defensive line hasn't been able to retreat during the time he usually stands and struggles to gain that extra metre or two before popping the offload. Seeing more of that from him would be wonderful.
