2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Im interested to see where the club wants to play Hethrington. Im pretty sure he has played most of his games at prop but the Bulldogs have recently used him as an edge forward.

Hoping Hetherington’s position is the same one which has always been my best position on a sporting field - ‘left right out’.

Sasagi has extended till the end of 2024.
I suspect he would have signed pretty cheap for the next 2 years.
His good stats in reserves have earned him a start in 1sts in a non injury cover capacity for the first time, so he could be on the verge of finally reaching his potential.
We need to work out what his position is.

Yep the key is now letting him work on a position, we've been horrible at developing blokes who have some utility value and talent for some time now.

Not overly convinced lock will be the most appropriate use of his talents but at the same time I'm sure he can be a good one.

Couldnt agree more, he has some serious toe when he gets in the open rather him on the end of plays rather than a lock pivot.

Interesting to see where they play next year, but I'd go,
13.Elliott, good ball playing lock form what I watched the other night
16.Hethrington, can come on with high energy after 20mins and can cover prop, lock and back row.

I think he hetherington will thrive under the guidance of a pack leader like klemmer who himself had to get the balance of aggression and intelligent football right.
I agree. What Graham was for klemmer is what klem should be for Jack. If he can find that balance it's an open book. The guy has skills in there you just got to take the padlock off him. I like the philosophy from Ronnie Griff, footy was fun when you are a kid so we need to promote that into the current gen to bring into grade.

The other English guy (not KPP) what position was he?
Looks like the forward pack is pretty much set for next year. Not brilliant signings but decent considering our current play ability scaring off anyone better.
A half back is definitely needed. I hope we keep Milford as there's bugger all better available unless we get Munster....
