2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Where did you get this from?

Marschke be a good get, but only going off the fact Bears have performed well past couple years and he's been apart of it.

Just checked, now Roosters have Turpin he's bumped Marschke to the bench.

Smoothy, dunno, have zero opinion on him.
chinese whispers mate, bloke who told me doesnt usually talk s*it. i havnt seen or heard it anywhere else. will see in time if its good mail or not i guess.

Cheers bud. Not sure if they are any better then who we have on books, need to give likes of Temple and Noah chance to shine.

Will Pryce is a really good goal kicker and that could be the factor that puts him in front of Miller. I think Miller has played very very good this year and I hope he keeps it up but we desperately need a goal kicker and I see Pryce as our future. Way too early to even consider Pryce over Miller though.

ZT suggesting the 5 we should be looking at are Ben Marschke, Zac Woolford, Taniela Otukolo, Jayden Berrell and Tyson Smoothy.

They probably just read the posts here and then print it as a hot scoop.
The guy who wrote that article is one of the biggest idiots going, second guessing my take that Berrell or Smoothy would be a good pickup. 😂

We have to look for a long term guy because I can't put my faith in Crossland/Mann long term and not Brailey either at this point. But tonight showed maybe we can get by this season if a guy worth investing in doesn't fall off the tree this year.

Crossland went well but needs to be given a break say 10mins or so either side of half time by Mann who can be used elsewhere but must be used to give Crossland a break. Until Elliott is fit and ready to play big minutes I would use Crossland, Mann and Gamble at 9, 14 & 13 and sharing time in 9 & 13

I agree. Crossland and Mann have stepped up for us this year but we are asking a bit too much from them. What happens if one of those guys gets injured? We will be completely ****ed, It’s football, it happens. We need a replacement last week.

Article in the Herald today says Zac Hosking spends his days off with his wife who still lives and works in Newcastle and building a house here. Doesn't sound like he's totally committed to Penrith.
Article also says Cleary used to play with Zac's father and has always followed his career, and when he saw him go well for Brisbane he was happy to give him a run.

I went out that way a few years ago to do some walks around the Blue Mountains and it is an absolutely beautiful part of the world.

Penrith the town sucks but they sure did steal a march on the rest of the comp with the NRL facilities they built. Besides the heap of **** stadium of course.
