2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

The Dogs team is looking very good for 2024.
Dom doesn't really owe the Knights much, he isn't a local that they have nurtured.

Easy to assemble a good team when you have no cap.

You are right Dom isn't a local that was nurtured, just a nobody Pom that the club took a punt on and invested in.

Both Dogs and Tigers have recruited well. Interesting when we talk about cap. All of sudden dogs have signed a bunch of stars. We are struggling to get a full back! Recruiting overseas. Getting fringe first graders. Trying to keep a player like Dom. Pretty depressing.

The source is the Telegraph, see post #3745.
Ahh missed it, he toured facilities obviously going to be difficult for the knights to keep any pommy players, they are just after cash like most of the blokes these days.

It's a job they dont care if they work for woolies or coles same **** just a different colour and the only colour that matters is the green.

This will drag out for ages unfortunately.

If he wants to go party in Sydney (wild lad from all reports) let him go.

I am relatively optimistic that we will be better this year with our current roster than last year. My main concern is AOB coaching .

The betting companys dont seem to share my optimism we are rank outsiders with the dolphins for the priemership and second favourite after the dolphins for the spoon.

I personally cant see us going that bad unless we have a horrible injury toll.

Sounds promising, Young staying or going feels like it will be a real indicator of where the club is heading.

Young staying is hopefully a sign the club is on the rise (finally).
We've had plenty of player movement already. I don't think Young, by himself, is much of an indicator with how the club is going, but maybe more that he has competent management exploring all options and maximising his next contract value. Just my opinion though.
