2020 Pre Season and Trial Games

Embarrassing hey. Unprofessional, leave that talk with your mates, it’s funny you brought that up, I was watching the Australian basket ball team being interviewed individually about their NBA careers etc, Bogut, Mills, Delly etc. It was impressive to hear them speak and it just comes down to the culture of their organisation. I’m sure it will be laughed at of course.

I think you can watch any other Australian sport and see the investment has been there into the club and the player to do themselves and their code good in the eyes of the fans. Not the NRL. Just gets worse and worse and worse. Pleased I’m not alone in noticing this and ranting about it

Massive difference in Pongas performance compared to when he play 5/8 in this game last year. He will be great for us this year after a full preseason at the back.

The AFL do a much better job with their communication. They appear to be Mensa students in comparison to NRL players who do a great job at living up-to the Aussie bogan stereotype.

Trials don’t mean anything at all but we should definitely stamp a number of players papers based on their performance in said irrelevant trial.

Good logic.

NRL has a long way to go on this front. At the 9's they hung around some team huddles with the mic a few times and it was only a matter of time before they recorded a trainer dropping F bombs live to TV.

I also recall ch9 in the lead up to a recent Origin game, right when the league was all about stamping out the violence, punching sin bins etc (as it still is), and here is 9 leading in to the Origin game, a game where many people who don't normally watch league are tuning in, they are playing a highlights real essentially of the best fights of Origin. Way to sell the game!

After seeing the highlights surely Sione can’t con another coach into selecting him for FG? He is deadset awful.

Mann has never been and never will be a competent first grader let alone for a side striving for top 4.

Serious questions need to be asked if both are selected in the round 1 side.

Was great in the back row, big hit and good lines... then went to the centre position and stunk like all hell...

Mann isnt first grade at all, like sione backup at best

CBM! Hit the road Jack and don't come back! I think we have all had enough???? Admin kick him! We are a tolerant bunch, but I see no value in CBM's posts! Divisive, triggering and with no real interest in the Knights! He is taking the ****, cut him free!!!
It sure is refreshing seeing CBM insults again. Footy is back!

Worst governed sport in Australia. Simple.

Don’t need trial form to know Sione and Mann are very average though. Their performances over their FG careers is all you need to rubber stamp their FG papers.

Sione was fine in the back row just like he was fine in the middle last year. He just needs to be kept away from the centres.

Shouldn't give this bloke air but I second this. Yeah feel free to like it troll boy...I'm only here for the likes. I don't think most give a flying **** about the cowboys and don't need to be told just how average hess and that winger and whoever the **** there 5/8 is

Steady Eddie you’ll wear yourself out by round 4.

Who brought Hess up? Certainly wasn’t me

Mitch Barnett has packed on a bit of size and looks right at home as a middle forward.
It's hard to think of him as a second row after watching him for 20 minutes as a powerful lock forward.
Momoisea was a mixed bag at second row. The Huth try was set up by a strong run and good offload from Momoisea, and his defence was very strong when he was in the right place to do it, but he didn't number up well and saints were able to make line breaks with simple passes after he committed too early.
Roberts-Davis replaced Shibasaki at centre and that side went to ****. Shibasaki was doing a lot of good work in defence, rushing up and cutting off a lot of options and making good tackles. Roberts-Davis stood around watching guys run past him. At one point Soper-Lawler ran from the other side of the field to try to make a tackle that Roberts-Davis didn't move 6 foot to make.
Hoy did a bit of time in the centres in the 3rd quarter. He looked good at fullback, but not that convincing at centre, but it was hard to judge because the game plan had gone out the window by that point.
Brodie Jones looked big and strong. He'll do a good job if we need him next week to be our bench second row. He is more ready than Momoisea.
Huth looked stronger than I thought he would against seniors. His dummy half work is great but I want to see him do long minutes in reserve grade before I'm sold on him.
Randall is a poor man's Brailey. If we lose Brailey for any reason, just give his jersey to Randall and you'd hardly notice the difference.
I thought Mitch Black would look like a little kid out there since he has only played short minutes in a few games of under 20s up to this point as the highest level he's played, but he held his own and even looked sharp at times. He is certainly one to watch.
Searle did some kicks that didn't work that well and wasn't that effective as a playmaker, but the side looked in total disarray by the time he got his shot. In defence he stood up to everyone and was putting shots on forwards. If he gets his playmaking up to standard he'll be an asset for us. He works hard in attack and defence and is fearless.
Dylan Lucas was moved around to a few different spots and looked a bit lost, but he managed to have a few runs and looked big enough to hold his own at a senior level.
I couldn't work out what position Sasagi was playing at first. He was eventually moved to fullback, which was not that good for him. Part of the reason the side fell to pieces in that 3rd quarter is that Sasagi was being moved around and didn't know what he was supposed to be doing.

The only guy I thought had a shocker and isn't worth persisting with was Roberts-Davis. Lot's of others like Momoisea and Hoy when he moved to centre showed they have a lot to work on, but it was a big step up for a lot of those guys and a new role for many as well.

A reality check for Obi even if only a yrial.

Biggest problem is 5/8 as both Mann and Lino were very, very ordinary. Has to be Watson. Both Sione and Fitzy at 11 and 12 showed why qwe are chasing Frizell.
