i hope we get to see that soon. But would also love to see Mann carve it up and prove a lot of us wrong

Under Brown in a chop change line up. Did well in a few games. I definitely don’t think Lino is the long term solution. I personally hope Crossland can stay fit and continue to develop and take the 6 jersey. But for time being I think it’s clear Lino offers more than Mann. Seriously, what’s Mann got on him other than sick tats?
 
Our top side looked better than their's.
After that, all those young guys showed promise, but lots to work on.
Sasagi playing a bit of fullback didn't work that well. He didn't know what he was doing.
Toa went back to making his poor reads - he really needs a good centre to talk to him in defence.
Roberts Davis isn't work a contract.
Mitch Black went really well for an 18 year old.
Searle really doesn't know he's a halfback and not supposed to get stuck into forwards.

Apart from the first 20 minutes, all we saw was what the younger players need to work on.

can Simi play wing? Would be keen to see how he goes
 
Sione needs to play only in forwards, 11, 12 or 13, if not bench, is better when play is tight rather than defending in open space. Need to see Lino with firsts to compare with Mann but think his overall game is better, not sure what you do with Mann if not 5/8. Centre is still a worry if Best and Moga out injured leaves us skinny in both ability and experience. Mann at centre???. It is early days so hopefully things will come together, new coach, different plays/positions let’s get through the trials and get the whole team together, Ponga, Watson etc.

I’d be more concerned if we was panicking trying to find a spot for Watson. Thankfully he is nailed at 14. Mann can play reserves because that’s his level. And he can fill in at 14 if Watson is injured or needs to move into 6 because Lino or Crossland is injured.
 
Think Lino at this time is our best option at 6 but not good enough to get us to top 4 plus, Crossland may develop as might others but if we are to win a comp we need to buy a very good 6 while we still have Pearce, next 2-3 years. All other positions are more than reasonably covered especially with the young brigade, Best, Hoy, Toa etc coming through.
