2020 Pre Season and Trial Games

Some excellent signs for our depth this year. 9s is obviously a different format and we'll see how the trials go, but looks like the coaches might have some real selection headaches this year.
 
God knows where Sasagi will end up playing.
In under 18s Dureau had him at number 14 in almost every game and used him at centre, hooker, 5/8, lock, wing - but he only played one way - get the ball and either run round them or over them.

We signed him as a 5/8 - can't see him ending up there.

Searle doesn't know he's a little guy. Defends in the middle and thinks he's a prop, but isn't strong enough to pull that off - yet.

He may start in first grade as a winger just to get him in there judging by that run.

Defence is what is working for us.
We have given up 1 try in 2 games of 9s.
Momoisea isn't doing much in attack but he covers a lot of ground and wraps up guys one on one in defence.
Sione is brutal.
Toa was suspect in defence last year but is making no mistakes now.
Soper_Lawler was a skinny kid who couldn't tackle in under 20s, but 3 years of Qld cup and he is making a lot of good decisions in defence now.
Even Lino is making his tackles.

We conceded a thousand points a year under Brown with the same blokes and the team as a unit making the same mistakes over the entire period. Amazing what some half decent coaching does.
 
I keep thinking... If we make the grandfinal.. there is no way I'd be replacing lino... Or gidley... Or sasagi... With Kurt mann
 
The injury thread on nrl.com is reporting Dufty from 2 games after ours, but no mention of Jake Saifiti yet - but even if it's a very minor thing, I can't see him getting another game.
