2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

I said a while back that Brown would have to take responsibility for this mess at some point and it looks like the club are starting to ask questions. It was his idea to start from scratch and clear the decks for the marquee signings and he hasn't landed one yet. The club and us as fans can only put up with this embarrassing **** for so long, we are realistically looking at 2 wins in 2 seasons 3 spoons in a row. The only thing saving Brown might be that no other coach would want to come to a side that no players want to play for ......

Everyone backed Brown to do the job he has done.
But this is a business, and the club has to make business like decisions.
If another coach is in a better position to attract big names, the club has to do what it has to do.
Nothing against Brown. He has done a mighty job. Better than I thought possible. In just a few years he has taken our squad from the most overpaid in the competition to being value for money for all but maybe 3 or 4 players - and we have millions of salary cap to spend.
If we appoint a new coach to take it from here, his first act should be to buy Brown a $500 bottle of single malt scotch and send him a huge thankyou note, for doing all the hard yards for him.

None of your "inside scoops" have been right yet. I'm sure with the amount of **** you throw at the wall something will stick eventually, but stop trying to pass it off like you have any kind of reliable inside knowledge.

Browns done everything he was hired to do to this point, he cleared the deadwood, he has identified and is developing the right juniors, the next step was to bring in marquee talent around those developing juniors which is where we are at. At this stage its not going to plan but im not sure how much of that can be solely blamed on Brown.
To me he has delivered everything as promised and is still in the process of working through this current roadblock.
sounds as though people want a signing for a signings sake, which in turn will eventually lead us back down the road we have come from.
 
Yeah I agree. It's not necessarily Brown's fault that no one wants to come here.

We've put up with it since 2005, what's a year or 2 more?
 
I actually got one right last week.
I said i'd heard Cogger was well ahead of schedule, and Brown said this week that he is training with the squad and could play lower grades next week - 5 weeks ahead of his original schedule.
Mind you, I got that from the same source that told me in the pre season that they had met 3 Fijians who were signed for the Knights NSW cup squad, and that turned out to be a load of bollocks, so I wasn't very confident.
 
Realistically, name a coach who isn't already contracted that has the ability to attract players. It would end up being an NRL novice. Although Toovey comes to mind, not sure he could do any better than Brown in terms of attracting players.
 
Not sure which planet Browny is living on but does he expect decent players to come here without having to pay overs?
Is he forgetting we have one of the worst team in NRL history?
One of the worst coaches in the NRL?
A team that is staring down 3 consecutive wooden spoons?
It's all good!! Lets offer any decent player on the market roughly what every other team is offering and watch them sign on dotted line lol!!

It looks like a new team everyday is popping up to sign Gagai.
They are willing to match what we are offering and probably even more.
They see he's a wasted talent in our team.
I can see why Browny is willing to let Gagai go..we don't bloody use him properly anyway!!
A part of me wants Gagai to leave to show us how good he really is.
If all these teams are willing to pay overs for Gagai, and we don't even want to match their offers..we really are the laughing stock of the NRL if we aren't already.

So your solution is to pay overs? We may aswell bring back hagan to do our recruiting. Which decent players on the market are worthy of "overs" ????
