In a lot of ways Kimmorley was a better half than Joey.
He didn't have Joey's defence and he didn't have the off the cuff brilliance, but he could play to a gameplan and work with a team better than anyone.
A lot of coaches would have taken Noddy over Joey.

Wow, massive call. I know which one I'd pick 1st. Probably the immortal that was in the team of the century.

You're right he was on big money, but no way in the world was he the highest paid player in the game for a decade.
 
Apparently Brett Kimmorley is now interested. There is no way the players would stand him... He bloody
goes on and on and. Why don't we just sign Garth now and get on with it.

Toohey also saying Brennan, but I think the interview process means we are only looking at who is pre interview favourite.
I've see heaps of interviews for jobs go to outsiders who interview well.
It usually turns out to be a huge mistake, but it happens a lot.
 
Give it to stone Brennan was under him when he was our coach before plus hes done a good job with our NSW cup side and did a good job before with a crap team that made the finals
 
Would be all for Kimmorley coming in as an assistant. Could see him doing great things with guys like Feeney from the 20s. Would prefer Stone or Brennan as head coach though.
 
I don't remember going to one Newcastle vs Kimmorley match where he wasn't passionately booed or subjected to Kimmorley is a w**ker, chants. He isn't the most popular person here lol.
 
I'd be happy with either Stone or Brennan.
Both have followed the latest coaching trends and both have had success with the teams and resources they were given beyond what you would expect.
Aslo, both will work for a quarter of Bennett's wage.
 
Can someone tell me Brennan's coaching record away from the panthers? Just curios if he is a really good coach or just riding some success under the structures cleary and gus have put in place? Remember warriors were going great guns in all 3 grades when Ivan was their, think they were all in the gf. Could be wrong

Didn't he coach us to our 1st ever finals series in NYC the year before he went down? Then took Penrith to finish about 5th the next year with a side that was supposed to be pretty average, to win coach of the year.
