2010 Four Nations

Might as well face it, Kurt Gidley is just an ordinary rep player. He plays well in one out of five games. If there's an injury and he gets a bit of gametime then he's the ideal bench man, but otherwise he comes on with twenty to go and does a worse job than Wes Naiqama does in that same role for Newcastle (which just goes to show what a difficult role that is in the side!).

Oh, and the less said about his fullback efforts for NSW the better ... I think his rep days may be numbered, he has way more shockers than good games.

If I was Australian coach i'd have Carney in ahead of him.

id still love to see gids get a start as nsw hooker, he played out of his skin there in state of origin game 3 and farrah and ennis havent stood up as a clear selection...

Have to agree with James there. And I don't see them picking a player that plays fullback at hooker for Origin.

I can't believe they are still saying how disappointing PNG were in the four nations...what did they expect? for chrissakes they were completely out of their depth...everyone else knew they'd get a flogging...they'd be better off playing in the pacific nations tournament and the winner of that plays in the four nations...

PNG did play in the Pacific Cup last year and won it ... the difference is they selected overseas players, where-as this year due to internal power-struggles, they only selected Aiton from overseas. Adrian Lam left as coach, players like David Mead weren't selected.

If they had the same team and coach that they had in 2008 at the World Cup (almost beating England) and in 2009 that flogged every other nation in the Pacific Cup, they would have done miles better and been competitive.

It's a real shame they didn't, it was a blow for PNG and the Four Nations.
