Hopefully doesn’t turn in to Naser Hussain levels of stupid from the ashes in 02/03

Thanks for the reminder….I was just starting to get over that….

[Lefty]

thankfully we still have Manus

Thankfully, it’s looking like Marnus’ last test.

Even Lyon is going at over 5 an over!

[Lefty]

I’m thinking Edgbaston 05.

And then we drop a sitter!

Now we are talking!

My son was 2 weeks old when that Test was played. I sat with him cradled in my legs for most of the game. Thankfully he was back in his baby basket at the end!

@Lefty can we get that axe out for the captain while we are at it.

@Lefty can we get that axe out for the captain while we are at it.

I think the captain has made a catastrophic error, we now have to bat well to save the game.

Great fightback in the 2nd session 4/81.
4/221 at tea. The game is almost back to even money.
Cooper Connolly picked up his first test wicket with a great review. Gaz picked up both Ackram short of his 100 and then Bavuma for 0. Markram holed out to backward square off hazelwood. if we can pick up 2 or 3 after tea and keep it tight the day could belong to us.

[Macca89]

They’ve done well to claw their way back into this.

[EASBay17]

6/232 starc takes 2 in an over. Its game on again

0/158 at one point

[EASBay17]

South Africa all out for 329 at the end of day 1.
Starc takes 4 wickets in 9 balls with the 2nd new ball.
We will be batting at the start of day 2. Game on !

[Lefty]

An excellent fight back by Australia, it was looking grim for Australia. Starc has matured into a truly great bowler.

It is very surprising that South Africa didn’t shut Australia out of the game when they had the opportunity.

[Thieves Like Us]

Isn’t it the middle of the night in Australia? Do you guys never sleep?

[Macca89]

0/158 to all out for 329

[Frank McWilliams]

Huge comeback, Oh! We’ve got to bat, that’s a worry

[EASBay17]

that 2nd new ball was absolutely hooping. I was glad we dragged starcs last over out just long enough to ensure we wouldnt have to pad up.

Also worth noting cummins went wicketless again and its the longest spell without a wicket in his career, over 50 overs.

Things look beautifully balanced after day one!
