I think someone mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I can't find it ... watching the replays, Cleary's ankle collapses and breaks before Crossland even makes contact with the leg?
It's all the tackle above.

Cleary an absolute class act.View attachment 8391
Nathan Cleary showing his class defending Phoenix for what we all have said, a complete accident that happens on the field
Had to laugh at some of the moronic media comments today, especially Bullfrog.Hip drop my ***, no way that was a hip drop.....
They might've thought that pleading for leniency rather than innocence, based on the footage and nature of the offence, was more likely to result in clearance to play. It’s pretty weak of Knights management or whoever makes that decision IMO. It’s a grand final and there are plenty of other prior examples that make a strong case, including one that’s going to run out again on Sunday.
In the scheme of things, what’s another 2 games? He’s already missing the grand final and World Cup, so who cares, just pay the money for the best lawyer and roll the ****ing dice, the man deserves it.
That Lucas injury still s**** me. Hip drop all dayI’m not super aware of the various implications of pleading guilty vs not guilty.
My understanding would be you fight:
a) if it’s a hip drop
Then b) how bad it was
Then c) negotiate the suspension
But maybe there’s some goodwill for not wasting their time
Also, just quietly, Lucas breaks his leg when the Roosters player pins it on the ground with his body, after tackling high and sliding low….there is no rotation/swing though.
