THE GRAND FINAL VS ROOSTERS ❤️💙❤️💙❤️

I'm only a semi-regular poster on here, but a daily reader of the forum. My daily reading has become an hourly reading over the last couple of weeks.

Was there for the Souths game, was there yesterday, and fortunately bought GF tickets after the warriors game. It's been such a great ride with this team this year, and just have to say this forum (outside of live game threads...) is a blessing. It connects me with the town even though I live in Sydney. Thanks to @jamesgould and all the regulars for creating this amazing space.

Was there in 97, was there in 01, can't wait to be there for our third title on Sunday. The Newcastle Knights don't lose grand finals, never have, never will.
 
We’re gonna win. The Chooks aren’t as good as the Wahs or Penrith and we beat both of them with so many things going against us. Plus the Dolphins happened to have their worst game of the year in the Prelim which makes them look better they are.

They make more mistakes than either of those sides and have more noticeable weaknesses. If we play like we did in the 2nd half yesterday with taking our chances and defending our balls off they won’t beat us.

I honestly can see a pretty comfortable win to be honest.

They're definitely not a team that's dominated all year and looks absolute locks to win it. And they'll give us plenty of chances. Game is there if we want it enough.

I have hope because even down to 12 men we still seemed so full of energy on Sunday. We're not a team that's limping into the GF after some draining matches, if anything we seem energised by it!

And I might not be able to make the game, but I've just ordered a 2026 away jersey from a shop in Hamilton! Hope it gets here before Sunday ... our premiership winning jersey I hope!!! 😍

I think we’ve had to get ourselves up for 3 sudden death matches - each getting progressingly tougher and more emotional. It’s not really known the effect it will have on us.

I saw Brown was in Sydney yesterday. Presumably the rest of the team is back?
Could be a busy week for them, so hopefully we manage the travel well. Things like Dally M awards and things like that.

Matty gave the advice to really lean into the support and fanfare around the GF. Said to embrace the supporters and use it to energise you.

One thing that stands out to me is Holbrook. And I think the team take the coaches lead. Holbrook looks like a kid in a candy shop. He’s so excited. If he’s nervous - he’s hiding it really well. If that’s rubbing off on the players - we are a real shot here. You can’t go into this game worried about losing. I back their preparation, and I think they’ll focus on their strengths and hope to defend well again.

Another thing. In all the interviews I’ve seen players do. There’s a bit of a theme. Noticed it with Gags after Souths. “3 games to go”. And again after Warriors - “2 games to go”. They’ve planned to get to the GF - they have the belief. And I highly doubt their “plan” stopped at making the GF. They’ll want to win.

I hope we get the win, and I hope we finally get to enjoy a win without “controversy” (Walker injured, ref decisions, Cleary injury) and we can celebrate this team for the champions they are.

Yep, it’s happening. Someone said they got work at the stadium mysteriously at the same time. Gav morris talking of live site, will come out today. See yas there!

May have done some last minute orders of a Newcastle type clothing for no reason🤠
 
Had the day off work yesterday and re watched both prelims sober, I thought the dolphins played absolutely shocking. There defence went back to that game they lost 66-0 against the sharks

Everyone saying how well roosters played and I disagree with that completely, Dolphins lost that game for themselves and yet roosters still only won by 16

I'd have loved to have played the Dolphins in the GF, I have to say.

I had forgotten that Ponga had missed BOTH games there as well, pretty understrength for both of them.

Not that we haven't had our share of adversities but the media never bring it up...And if we had lost it wouldn't have been bought up too

Roosters never looked like losing once they got that first try in the second half and kept their foot on the pedal. Dolphins definitely started well but that Marky intercept broke them a little and they played a bit shellshocked.
 
Lots of coverage on MMM this morning...goodness Anthony Maroon was annoying, kept saying there's two teams in the GF and to give the Roosters some love with Hindy etc talking about the Knights, like lol as if the Sydney media haven't spent enough time this year circle jerking the Roosters and Robbo every week whilst the Knights usually get the usual one game day article a week, and they've all shut up since Ponga re-signed and they were all proven wrong about him...

I honestly thought the same thing when I watched the game on Friday. I didn't think that the Roosters were all that impressive, just that the Dolphins were absolutely terrible.

It makes me quietly confident of a win with how quickly and easily the Roosters conceded tries in the last 5 minutes of the game.
