We made the finals in 23 and 24 with a very weak earlier iteration of this team.

2025 was an outlier mainly because the players threw the tools down in revolt. Plus heavy injuries.

We were always going to make the 8 this season. We finished equal 5th despite missing $4m in cap space for about a dozen games. If we're not, once again, inordinately cruelled by injuries we will be firmly top 4 next year

The first time in many many years, maybe nearly 20yrs, I decided to put wide world of sports on and then some footy show thing after it. This is a screen shot of the top 8 chances at the grand final. Now I know we are a slim to none but surly they could have fit all 8 teams on there?

I know but combining our rubbish Friday night record with the injury toll up against a full strength Souths I think will be too much for us unfortunately.

I would love nothing more than for us to knock out Souths but I can just see every call go their way.

You finish where you deserve ultimately but still feels disappointing that they fell out of the top 6. I was expecting them to be competing for the spoon before the season started though so that disappointment is a testament to how much of a success this season has been even with the injuries.

They finished one place under my prediction, Hopwood starting by years end, and our players going amazingly strength to strength with Holbrook near coach of the year. Satisfied seeing my hopes turn into reality.

What luck, Souths normally have a heap of injuries but they should actually be basically full strength.

So if Francis can’t play, they’re not seriously going to put Cant up against Fifita are they?
