Have you heard of 3rd parties? Theyd wipe any baby eating
Disagree. Dom Young is the best winger in the comp. I know people will laugh at that but I haven't quite seen a winger like him before. He's all outcomes. I'd love to see a statistic that measures touches per positive outcome e.g. earning a penalty for your team for being impossible to tackle and wrestle when carrying the ball out of your end, or scoring a try that literally no one else would score but you just make it look easy so people hardly appreciate what is required to score many of the tries he scores.I wouldn’t have him back, not because he left Newcastle in search of a better offer. The NRL is a business, and financial decisions are made all the time that upset some fans and excite others.
Good luck to him .
I just think he overachieved at the Knights, and is not the quality winger the Roosters thought he was, especially with no Manu and Keary feeding him the passes and kicks like Gags and Ponga used to. I think theRoosters have realised they payed overs for a Ferrari and while they put E10 in it, it won’t run properly .
Even though Dom scored some tries for the Rorters last season, many of them just required him to “fall over the line”, often as a last resort if Manu or Teddy knew it was impossible for them to score themselves.I wouldn’t have him back, not because he left Newcastle in search of a better offer. That ship has sailed and our cap is now shaped away from that, so it's a moot point I guess.Disagree. Dom Young is the best winger in the comp. He's also an underrated defender. Again, you'll notice great defensive outcomes around him. People don't appreciate how his range and agility as a defender allows him to cover defend as well as anyone in the game.
The reason I was so cut about him leaving is because I haven't been that excited about a player since Mullo debuted. Call me crazy. But that's the player I see.

Fact. By the time he finishes To’o will be considered the greatest winger to have played the game, in fact he’s pretty close to it now.Brian To’o is the best winger in the comp IMO and it’s not particularly close.

The Roosters did try and buy Gagai as well. It’s truely amazing how different people can watch the same player and come up with a completely different opinion of them. It makes for good discussion at least.
I could agree that Dom would be in the discussion for best winger in the comp if we were talking purely just finishing (and even that area he’s been regressing imo). The more I watch him though, the more I see him as more of a liability to his team than an asset. His defensive reads and contact are horrendous, for all his speed he has the turning circle of a truck, if a kick gets put in behind him you know the opposition is going to score. His understanding of the game and decision making on the other side of the ball are really poor. For example when he got found out defensively in a game recently he then tried to trip the opposition to make up for it. Kick returns are so underrated for a winger. In Dom’s defence he will jump in there to try and contribute, but most times he’ll run sideways trying to find a gap to go for the fancy play, where what his side really needs is for him to just run hard and straight.
To me Dom is a flat track bully. He looks amazing on the end of a good backline that’s humming, but you don’t want him in your side when things aren’t going well.
I said when he left that on his way down to a Bondi he needed to stop at Gagai’s place and give him at least half of the massive contract he got from the Roosters for making him look good and getting that contract to begin with. He really fooled the Roosters there.
I have a few Roosters supporting mates and they all absolutely hate the bloke and want him dropped, so I’d 100% believe that rumour was about him.

Totally, he benefitted from forming a great combination with Gagai, compared to a rather inconsistent group he’s been outside at the Roosters. Also AOB had the brains to create a gameplan which suited his game. The Roosters did try and buy Gagai as well.
So they probably worked this out last year.
Dom had the defensive issues here but I think Gags helped with that and Dom wasnt on big money so the expectation was different.
In what way is he new to league? I believe he’s played his whole life …For the record I would take Dom back and be happy about it if some situation were ever to arise that the Roosters were footing a very large amount of the contract. He’d need to work himself into the team though as opposition sides have now worked him out. I will say in his defence, I don’t think the Roosters are handling his development well, as he’s still fairly new to league. I was a bit surprised to hear him say sprint training was his biggest focus over the off season when that’s clearly not his issue.
People speculating the player on the outer is Dom.Why are we talking about Dom?
