Recruitment And Retention Discussion

It could happen about half way through maybe.

As they year goes on the Eels have paid more and more of his contract so our salary cap hit would be lower.

We would probably need to offload a player though to make it happen. Do we have a free top 30 roster spot?

Also, maybe the Eels start to think what player can the Knights swap for him. Truly Cogger is the best option for us and them.

Assuming Wil Sullivan took the last top 30 spot this year, then we would need to release a player before we could sign another player for this year.

The lower offer must have really annoyed him, hey. In Manly’s case I don’t understand why they didn’t just renew it at the same amount or only slightly less. But DCE seems to have gone nuclear, too haha.
He's got form with contract drama. He signed with the Titian's or basically signed ( im hazy on details)

Wil took Seb Sua’s vacated spot
So based on our current middle fwd situation what would or should have been preferred in Sua’s situation as opposed to Sullivan. Su’a ready to play, experienced at prop as opposed to Sullivan who has limited experience and we are 3 games into season and he had his first game Rd3 starting on bench in Cup.
Yes Sullivan may end up better than Su’a but what we needed now was a suitable replacement covering injuries, yes those injuries came later but cover was already needed. Sullivan could have been brought down and given time to fit in and when able to do so then and only then should Su’a been allowed to leave.
I have voiced this before, my apologies if I appear to be over the top on this

I watched nsw cup and taking into account it was his first game he really wasn’t impressive at all.

Well he's only had a couple of training sessions with firstgrade.
I suspect he'd have met half the reserve grade team in the change shed before the game.

STAR ON THE OUTER?

Which big-name back on big dollars is proving a headache for his club?

He's showing that he's not to worth the massive deal he was given and the club is looking to offload him - either to England or a rival NRL club.

It's not his behaviour or attitude that is an issue - more the fact that he leaks points at an alarming rate.

But to get him off their hands, the club would have to pay a significant amount of his lavish contract for the next couple of years.

Homecoming for Dom?
