Not saying I want Schuster but if there was anyone that could whip someone into shape it’s Brian McDermott
Are you suggesting our current squad is fit? I would have us well into the bottom half on NRL teams in fitness this year. IMO no line speed, forward turning their backs to get back into the line missing their assignments. Lack of forwards wanting to take the hard hitups? I think weve been disgraceful.

I didn't read the article on the inquest into his mate's death that came out a week or two ago, but I skimmed the findings and there was recommendations that League doesn't do certain old school training in the heat.
I think if you wanted to flog him into shape, you'd need to discuss it with his lawyer.

i think we came into the season underdone purposefully.
i recall the big military style boot camps we did in pre-seasons past, and then we couldnt keep up fitness for the full season. definitely different this year, but it may be a difference maker later in the season.

Id suggest that the good clubs can keep up the fitness for the full season - not sure what we should read into that though,
Time will tell if your theory is correct

Can’t sign Schuster and keep Pryce. Unless it’s for backrow and even then we have too many talented young backrowers coming through I’d be pissed about losing.

Pryce had his worse game on weekend, but he’s also done some good stuff. I can however, see why Hastings got up him recently.

I'd release Pryce for Schuster.
Pryce seems like a likable guy and he tries hard, but he's not working out.
Are you serious?? A 21 year old who is still developing, imagine if we said this about Dom in his first year because Dom was by far worse, and it is a lot hard to play 1 or 6 than it is to be a wing in the nrl from SL. Give it some time, he hasn't been terrible in Cup either. Jesus Bill I thought you would be a lot more switched on than this comment... smh

If he was on reserve grade money or fringe money, like Dom was, I'd be happy to give him a year or two, but b reports he's taking up a top 30 spot on top 30 money.

Agree with you Billy. He's speculated to be on good coin. He's been underwhelming so far. Schuster is a gamble. But for the right coin /contract it could be a good move. Especially given Gamble's injury /contract situation.

I can't recall a player who basically had talent but couldn't keep fit or do the tough stuff turning it around. Have there been that many? Moses Suli? I can't think of many others.

People that are so ineffective generally they can't do their job, don't tend to change.

Schuster is a famous Knights name though! How good was the Shu we had back in the 90's!

I heard Roosters did this in the last year they won a grand final.

If the Knights took Schuster on, they would need to be patient and get his mental and physical health back on track. Schuster could be a game breaker, but until these 2 areas are remediated, he will go nowhere towards reaching his best.
