I think Gamble has been an excellent buy. His defence recently has been awesome. I love his niggling of opponents, whatever he does he is good at annoying our opponents.

Not who I would have chosen, but I think he will be a fan favourite. Very vocal and gives 100% every week. Definitely more likely to read his forwards and outside men the riot act than Clune or Clifford. He’s absolutely a better player than any off contract half atm so it’s a signing we probably have to make.

Robbie O’Davis was a Queenslander too, as long they have the ability and the passion, I don’t care where they are from.

Listening to Gamble after the games the last few weeks, he loves it here and seems he doesnt mind the spotlight either

I read somewhere that Gamble and Crossland are both on less than $180,000 a year and the way they are both playing and how they mesh into our spine i wouldn't swap them for anyone .

Think the likes of Hastings and Gamble have shown that if you have footy brain and decent basic skill set you’ll be successful in a team like Newcastle. We have an outstanding FB and two Outstanding centres who feed our winger or make breakers themselves. Pass early/kick early, tackle well and compete every play. That’s what they are both excelling at and why team is humming along nicely.
