2023 Recruitment & Retention Thread

Article about Tom Cant, saying he is unsigned but would like to stick around.
The article only mentions Donoughue and Cant as unsigned from the Flegg squad, but there would be others.
Cant says it's the most talented squad he's been part of since joining the Knights at 14 and thinks many will go on to make the top squad.

Little known fact - Tom Cant probably doesn't know it - the Cant family is a very large pioneer family in the Hunter valley and I read a book on them that listed high profile relations and Robert Finch was related. So Tom Cant is related to Brett Finch - even looks a bit like him.
The above article says Tom Cant's father played for Maitland.
Robert Finch was a Maitland legend.

roger tuivasa sheck not getting a run in the starting side for all blacks - worth throwing something at him and play him at 1 for knights and move Ponga to 6 and 7 brooks?

I think he has some agreement that if he goes back to league it's with the Warriors.

He might be able to get out of that since they've just signed CNK though.

If not then going back to the Warriors is probably the best motivation Union could hope for in keeping him in their code lol.

I'm a massive Ponga fan but RTS was 10x the player he is, someone you'd be more than comfortable handing $1mil+.

In saying that now that he has AB Caps on his CV his stock in Japan and France would be immense, only return to league would be to the Warriors if he wants the family to stay in NZ or a Roosters Uncle Nick situation.
