2017/2018 Knights Player signing speculation

I think you're severely underestimating how much guys like Kostjaysn, Sio and RossDawg are on. Even Mickey Paea wouldn't be cheap as he was signed in the Hagan lottery years.

Then juniors like the twins and lamb all signed upgraded deals last year.
 
Anyways, feels like to me they left 400k free to try and get ponga this year, maybe 200-300k for another signing and the 200k left on korbins deal when he jumped ship.

300k is what you pay for an average first grader these days.

So that kinda evens it out pretty quickly yeah?

Ill stand by my opinion that we have ROUGHLY 1.5mill available in our cap atm.

FML Paea realistically would be on $300k if not $400k - there's a thought to make you want to cry.

Well when every media outlet including sir Toohey have stated as much... yeah ill run with that figure.

Just like all of u jumping on the Broncos 1mil for bird signing.... weird how that goes ay

Not a chance in hell he is.... 200k max

Put it this way... we let korbin go cause he wasnt worth the 300k or so he cost... we tried to offload Stockwell as he wasnt worth the 350k he was getting this yr.... do u think Paea would miss that chopping block if he was on 250k or more? Seriously whos making ship up now

That sounds about right when you consider we brought Tupou in to replace Korbs which would cost us about 80k. We would have the money to sign someone this year but as for next year it's hard to really gauge what sort of room we will have under the cap until Gagai decides what he is doing and we make calls on people like Pete, Stockwell etc. People need to remember that from next year it is a top 30 not 25 too but I assume with 20s going we will shift some of those players into the top squad and move on a number of reserve graders like Feeney,Pearsell etc to make room for guys like Johns, Starling and the young halfback in the 20s.

This maybe right, but why would it be on our cap if he made rep sides and got the rep sides coin?
Surely the reports would start at the baseline prices... i guess Birds only getting 500k with the Broncos then cause he will get 150k from SOO then another 250k from the world cup this yr then 150k nest yr from SOO and 50k for the anzac test

no pongas incentives in our contract are different to normal rep payments made from playing origin etc
It's like us saying hey if you reach your potential we will pay you more

I know how it works, just pointing out how no one seems to think that figure is close to correct but are all jumping up and down on Birds reported contract figure which is made by the same people in the media.

Also find it funny how some can think our wingers are getting 300k who tbh wouldnt be in the nrl if at another club but think the hottest property in the game signed with us for 400k... weird how that all works imo.
