I don't get Hoffman interest. Will be 34 next year, no longer rep quality just solid and we have too many edge forwards as is.

although 'just solid' is probably better then what we have now if Tupou retires after this year

Well Buhrer is better and 6 years younger. Sione does a similar job at present and you would hope he will get a bit better. Then you have Stone and Wardle too.

Edge forwards is the one position we aren't embarrassing in. The issue is they are all on the small side. Stone is just a skinny kid and will have that bigger body in a year or two. Might end up as a lock or prop though.

I think the answer would be they are targeting the rep standard forwards like Graham and Matulino.

I still don't know exactly how under spending this year will help next year, but the cat seems to be well and truly out of the bag now.
Brown says what we all know - we are spending half as much as the high fliers this year.
