Henry riding high after Knights win

I was going to start a thread myself about Henry - he's been damn impressive. Dangerous close to the line (even if he does get a bit of white line fever, it's paid off twice in two games). Solid as in defence. Got a good short kicking game and has thrown some very nice short and long balls.

Best young signing we've made for a long time. Two games in and I reckon he looks like he's been in first grade a couple of years already.

Yes it is hard to believe that our halves problem may finally be over.

6. Henry
7. Mullen

Could be our second best ever halves partnership since the Johns brothers. Hopefully will last a long time.

What I like the most about Henry is that he isn't overplaying his hand at all, he is choosing the right time and moment for everything. He and Mullen are combining exceptionally well, better than I expected, Mullen booting 40/20's and finding space everytime and Henry chiming through little grubbers for the outside men, not sold on his long kicking but his short kicks are perfect, our kicking is as good as I have seen it since 06. That grubber Mullen done for Henry to score against the Penrith was very Carney/Pearce like.

Henry is huge aswell and not a defensive liability at all, he has a great step and is attacking the line with a 2/2 success rate in two games. His passing is crisp, has an awesome flat ball for a hard running centre or second rower a few wide of the ruck too, he is finding the mark with them.

Your not sold on his long kicking because he hasnt really done any, and why would he with mullen looking like he has the ball on a string in the first two rounds. Henrys only done 3 long kicks so far this season.

I hear Henrys long kicking game is quite good.

For me the best thing about henry is he does not care about getting tackled, for me he prefers to take the tackle instead of risking a silly pass, which not a lot of young kids can do when they start first grade, and he will only get better with matty there to help him :)

Beau has been outstanding in his first two First Grade games of the season. His passing games has definitely been excellent, both long and short passes. Also his running, he doesn't mind getting hit if he's in a position if it's too risky too pass. Plus, he's already got 2 tries in only two of his first games.

Both Henry & Mullen deserve to be kept at their positions their at now. They are a great 5/8 & Halve combination and if they keep consistent through-out the whole season, I can say we should be up with the top teams. They have shown great support in their pairing and if they work out with both forwards and outside backs we most definitely be a threat to Manly on Sunday. :)

Gould said on the roast on sunday, and I agree, we've been going well, and our halves are firing, but will they fire if we're behind? We've been behind a dominant pack the last 2 games, it will be interesting to see if they can get us moving if we're behind, or under pressure. Dragons is going to be the real test in whether they're the real deal

He has been fantastic so far but I agree that the real test is going to come in a tighter game or when we are coming from behind. He still has a long way to go and it's the job of the coaching staff to ensure he knows that.

Daniel Mortimer was the perfect example and Gus mentioned it on the roast, he looked fantastic in a Parramatta side that was flying for half a season but he has struggled when his forward pack hasn't been so dominant.

They compliment each other very nicely. It was awesome to see him step and score that try the other night... going to get better with every game.

Not if they play how they did tonight

Give Sharks some credit. They were firing tonight, especially their forward pack. They played some good footy.

As for Henry, I think he's played really well, but I think you can credit Mullen for a lot of that. He's really stepped up, taken complete control of the game, and therefore taken a lot of pressure off Henry.

The Sharks were definitely at their best in a couple of years.. it was actually good to see but the Dragons were pretty bad too, so many errors and the like

Henry is fabulous and he excites me. He is brimming with potential! What's to say that Mullo doesn't feel confident playing along side Henry in turn encouraging him to play his best too?

apart from the fact hes not afraid of taking on the line and getting smashed (saw up close some of the hits he took against the panthers and daaaaam) but he kept doing it no backward step at all... but apart from that i LOVE his passion, see how excited he was when he got that try from mullo kick (understand he would be excited on debut and 1st try) but after the kick to uate and mullos 40/20s hes jumping around yelling and screaming and loving it... great to watch

That kick to Uate was first class, probably one of our best tries in years.

As for the Sharks vs Dragons, really would of rathered the dragons win, even though i tipped sharks. Now Bennett is going to have them fired up, instead of having easy run coming up to us, can pretty much say they won't be the team they were tonight when we play them. Although it did show that when they're under pressure, Soward is so average

Thats a stretch lol. It was a good kick, impressive for a rookie, but by no means was the try spectacular.

I agree with Gould. We havent been behind on the scoreboard yet this season. Its going to be interesting to see how our players especially Henry handle that when it comes

I just like the fact that it was so perfect, when you look at most of knights tries, they have no structure, we have no set plays when it comes to attack, but I have a feeling Henry is going to make this one of his.

The best thing about that try was the fact Henry actually had a look and played what was in front of him. He read the defence, noticed Barney was up and in, and had the confidence to do something off the cuff and put the kick in.

The kick hitting the mark and being accurate was the easy part and should be expected of a FG half no matter what the experience. What led up to the kick was what impressed me and shows signs of a confident young player.
