Yes, the key to winning origin has always been playing players out of position.
Well i would just like the idea of:
Gidley - #9.
Hayne - #1.
But that was just an idea.

In the case of Gidley playing hooker, yes!
He is the best hooker NSW have got!
Love it!
The side that will probably be picked:
1. Jarryd Hayne

4. Matt Cooper
5. Michael Gordon
6. Todd Carney
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Kade Snowden
9. Michael Ennis
10. Brett White
11. Nathan Hindmarsh ( VC )
12. Paul Gallen ( C )
13. Greg Bird
14. Kurt Gidley
15. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
16. Tim Mannah
17. Luke Douglas
The side that I would have if I was a selector:
1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Akuila Uate
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Michael Jennings
5. Michael Gordon
6. Terry Campese
7. Todd Carney
8. Kade Snowden
9. Kurt Gidley ( C )
10. Luke Douglas

14. Luke Lewis
15. Tim Mannah
16. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
17. Anthony Watomough

All you guys are dreaming with gidley at 9, half the compitions halfbacks could play better there than gidley, And has anyone mentioned Dean Young????
I know it was just 1 game, but in Game 3 of Origin, Gidley played the majority of the game at hooker & put on the best performance of a NSW hooker for a while now.

Plus who else would you have? Farah relies on his combination with Benji, & Ennis is just a penalty prone grub that cost us Game 3.
Is there any point discussing boring origin sides when there's half a season to play before it's selected and it's still seven months away?
It's international league on at the moment, gosh, get some better topics!!!

In the paper today it was talking about Gallen wanting to become captain for next year. Origin might be ages away but, they are saying it like Kurt will not be captain at all, let alone secure a starting spot. BTW I hate all the hype around Pearce, gets me soo annoyed.
Yeah he gets so much negative press around him, yet most people forget he was the blues player of the series!I wouldn't mind it if Gallen was captain, takes the pressure off Gidley, and we saw how well he played without the added pressure.
I also hate Pearce with a passion aswell I don't rate him apart from defence. The only reason he will be in Origin next year is because of the form he had for the first 7 rounds of this year, the fact that Carney will be there and also the fact that even if he has a shocking game he dosen't warrant getting dropped like the other 16 players! Gidley had an awesome game in game 3 and people still wanted him dropped!
I can't wait until the Knights play the Roosters next year so Mullen can show that nuffie up! :dancing:
I like this side But Id Change Gordon to centre and Morris on the wing. Also anyone but Hayne at fullback.1. Hayne
2. Uate - He neees to picked. He's born to play origin, We need players who can provide something out of nothing and he's the man for it. He was a country mile better then every winger this year, so he should there
3. Gasnier/Lawrence - If Gaz can get back to his best next year, then he's a shoo-in. If not, i'd go with Lawrence.
4. Jennings
5. M Gordon
6. Carney - He's a must after the year he's had!
7. Pearce - Not sold on him really, but theres no better options atm, unless Mullen or someone else steps up in 2011
8. Snowden - Played really well this year imo.
9. Gidley - He's obviously not the best NSW hooker we have, but i think he's the best we have at Origin level. It was clearly evident in Game 3 this year
10. Douglas
11. Gallen - He's a must. If he can cut down on the penalties, he'd be one of our better NSW forwards.
12. Lewis
13. Bird - We need him. He was by far our best forward for NSW this year
14. M Minichello
15. Watmough - Had a very ordinary year this season, so hes on the bench
16. Learoyd-Lahrs - He has to be in the team. He was by far our best prop for NSW this season, and his aggression and passion will upset those Queenslanders!
17. Mannah
