Your NSW Blues Side For 2012

Yes, the key to winning origin has always been playing players out of position.

In the case of Gidley playing hooker, yes!

He is the best hooker NSW have got! :)

Well i would just like the idea of:
Gidley - #9.
Hayne - #1.

But that was just an idea. :)

Love it! :D

The side that will probably be picked:

1. Jarryd Hayne
2. Brett Morris
3. Michael Jennings
4. Matt Cooper
5. Michael Gordon
6. Todd Carney
7. Mitchell Pearce
8. Kade Snowden
9. Michael Ennis

12. Paul Gallen ( C )
13. Greg Bird

14. Kurt Gidley
15. Tom Learoyd Lahrs
16. Tim Mannah

2. Akuila Uate
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Michael Jennings
5. Michael Gordon
6. Terry Campese
7. Todd Carney

I'm glad you agree with me.

I like your selected side but i'd put Todd Carney at #6 & i'd really like to see Jarrod Mullen back at #7 for the blues!

Uate will get picked for NSW, mark my words, though, if Daley was still a selector, Uate would be a shoo-in. Daley rates him very highly

All you guys are dreaming with gidley at 9, half the compitions halfbacks could play better there than gidley, And has anyone mentioned Dean Young????

Gidley is no Cameron Smith in the Hooker position but if you think that half of the halfbacks in the competition can play at hooker better, you are dreaming!

I know it was just 1 game, but in Game 3 of Origin, Gidley played the majority of the game at hooker & put on the best performance of a NSW hooker for a while now.

Plus who else would you have? Farah relies on his combination with Benji, & Ennis is just a penalty prone grub that cost us Game 3.

Dean Young!!!!! Gidley will always be a number 14, fullback, there is hayne, dugan and coote. and hooker ennis and farrar are miles ahead even if they do have minor faults.

Or we could meet in the middle, start with dean young, move him into the back row, then maybe play gidley at 9..

Is there any point discussing boring origin sides when there's half a season to play before it's selected and it's still seven months away?

It's international league on at the moment, gosh, get some better topics!!!

My Blues Team for 2011

The 2011 NSW Blues team has to look like this:

1.J.Hayne
2.B.Morris
3.M.Jennings
4.C.Lawrence
5.M.Gordon
6.T.Carney
7.M.Pearce
8.T.Learoyd-Lahrs
9.R.Farah
10.T.Mannah
11.L.Lewis
12.P.Gallen
13.G.Bird

14.K.Gidley
15.L.Douglas
16.M.Aubusson
17.K.Snowden

I have picked a young squad who could be there in 5 years time.
This team could have a great chance of winning it.

NSW have to match the Queenslanders. Todd Carney and Mitchell Pearce will make Thurston/Lockyer abit uncomfortable with there Flamboyance and ability to do something unexpected. Also the club combination will really help NSW.

Robbie Farah and Kurt Gidley have that Aura about them. Farah may have not played well when he got his chance last time. But he is more a hooker than Ennis will ever be. Ennis does not have the ability Farah does. And i think the combination of Hayne/Carney/Pearce and Farah will rise NSW to the top. All unpredictable when they are on fire.

The Forwards are A mix of young guns and Old fire heads.
The backrow of Lewis/Gallen and Bird will really rattle the Queenslanders. They play there 80 mins and never back down for anything. They will show the forwards how to really rattle the Cane Toads.

In the paper today it was talking about Gallen wanting to become captain for next year. Origin might be ages away but, they are saying it like Kurt will not be captain at all, let alone secure a starting spot. BTW I hate all the hype around Pearce, gets me soo annoyed.

I wouldn't mind it if Gallen was captain, takes the pressure off Gidley, and we saw how well he played without the added pressure.

I also hate Pearce with a passion aswell I don't rate him apart from defence. The only reason he will be in Origin next year is because of the form he had for the first 7 rounds of this year, the fact that Carney will be there and also the fact that even if he has a shocking game he dosen't warrant getting dropped like the other 16 players! Gidley had an awesome game in game 3 and people still wanted him dropped!

I can't wait until the Knights play the Roosters next year so Mullen can show that nuffie up! :dancing:

Yeah he gets so much negative press around him, yet most people forget he was the blues player of the series!

1. Hayne
2. Uate - He neees to picked. He's born to play origin, We need players who can provide something out of nothing and he's the man for it. He was a country mile better then every winger this year, so he should there
3. Gasnier/Lawrence - If Gaz can get back to his best next year, then he's a shoo-in. If not, i'd go with Lawrence.
4. Jennings
5. M Gordon
6. Carney - He's a must after the year he's had!
7. Pearce - Not sold on him really, but theres no better options atm, unless Mullen or someone else steps up in 2011
8. Snowden - Played really well this year imo.
9. Gidley - He's obviously not the best NSW hooker we have, but i think he's the best we have at Origin level. It was clearly evident in Game 3 this year
10. Douglas
11. Gallen - He's a must. If he can cut down on the penalties, he'd be one of our better NSW forwards.
12. Lewis
13. Bird - We need him. He was by far our best forward for NSW this year

14. M Minichello
15. Watmough - Had a very ordinary year this season, so hes on the bench
16. Learoyd-Lahrs - He has to be in the team. He was by far our best prop for NSW this season, and his aggression and passion will upset those Queenslanders!
17. Mannah

I like this side But Id Change Gordon to centre and Morris on the wing. Also anyone but Hayne at fullback.

Dean young isnt even the best hooker at his club

Who do you think Bennett has playing hooker for 60min a game off the bench? Fein will be their hooker next year, with Young at lock.

He is in the same mold as gidley anyway, not the most gifted footballer in terms of talent, but works hard on his game and has got the top via sheer hard work and passion.

I dont think Gidley should be 9 either. Farah or Ennis can do the job, its just the problems with NSW are much deeper then the playing roster itself.

Yes please Aidos, If I see Gidley at #9 rather than Ennis, Farah or Young I'd be stoked, I would like to see Gids play there next year.

You're all dreaming with Gidley at hooker. Ennis or Farah should and will be there ahead of him.

Gidley had his best rep game in game three OFF THE BENCH (in case you've forgotten) ... which is where he'll play next year.
