Dude, it was just 4 games and he wasn't even outstanding, he was good but I wouldnt say outstanding...But I reckon there is potential there. I think if it will happen, it wont for atleast 4-5 years.

I don't think your being biased at all, he is certainly a good young talent.
If he puts his mind to it and Stone gives him ample chances to prove himself somewhere down the track he could play Origin.

Its a fast backline, with perhaps the exception of lawrence, as more of hopefully someone to contain GI. The halves are really dynamic and aggressive, with Campese hopefully more eager to run the ball. The forward pack is more leant towards footwork, you can probably see its a more agile pack.

Mika is a Kiwi, he couldn't play origin if he wanted to.
He's played four games of first grade, it's pretty insane to be suggesting he's an origin candidate after such a brief taste of top grade. Of course he's got a low profile, it's because he's barely played first grade!
I spose you wanted Jordan Atkins to be selected for Aus after he scored four tries in his first game!

The Jordan Atkins comment made me want to repost my suggestions from 3 or 4 months back, Id still have this side except for one change.

Todd Carney in for Jamie Soward.. still hurts my pride having to make the adjustment because im such a big fan of Jamie Soward and i think Todd Carney is an A Grade knob but the facts are the facts, Carney outplayed Jamie throughout the season and his already made combination with Pearce should offer some stability to the side depending if the selectors can keep the same 17 through the entire series.

As posted in previous threads the main priority for the NSW selectors is be to establish the nucleus of the side being the 1, 6, 7 & 9. :think:
Fullback & Captain- Kurt Gidley
Obviously it came down to the Jared Hayne v.s Kurt Gidley scenario. A selection which has given the selectors plenty of sleepless nights in the past, however for me answer is obvious.
Jared Hayne "on his day" has the ability to score more points then Gidley, thats just a fact. However that's "on his day" which is only 50% of the time the other 50% he unfortunately goes missing in action. If you watch back some of his stellar games from the back half of 2009 he was still only competing no more then 50 minutes at best. Contrast this to Kurt Gidley, who's week in week out commitment, leadership & contribution to a side is unrivalled. :mrgreen:
For anyone to still class Kurt Gildey as simply a 20 minute impact player is ridiculous, the selectors simply made him a scape goat for there incompetence. It seems such a contridication that they replace Gidley who over an 80 minute period contributes more to any football side in the Nrl with a player who at best only contributes 50 minutes.
Everyone has to remember that this is Origin not just your regular first grade games. Look at Slater, Inglis, Smith, Thurston and Lockyer these guys are classic 80 minute performers, It really is the difference between winning and losing matches. :notgood:
In regards to the Captaincy, this truly is a no brainer so much so im even unable to chose a suitable vice-captain for the side. Once again proving there is no-one with a country-mile of Gidley.
Halves- Jamie Soward & Mitchell Pearce
As a NSW supporter seeing the late charge of the Roosters in 2010 gave me great hope that NSW have finally found the long awaited Lockyer and Thurston combination they have been missing for so many years.
Todd Carney's remarkable season and Mitchell Pearce's limited experience at state level should ensure that they are the 6 & 7 for NSW offering an already made combination. Should be interesting if they can play with the same flamboyance with the likes of Morris's, Jennings, Hayne & Gidley outside them.
Hooker- Michael Ennis
Had pride not got in the way, Michael Ennis would have been remembered this year as the hero from that last origin game. His grubber kick for Greg Bird was perfectly weighted and executed, it almost had a Thurston & Slater feel about it. But after coping an elbow late in the game, he decided rather then letting it go he took into his own hands and cost us the match. Little aspects like this within his game still need work which hopefully he can identify and finetune over the next 12 months but he's certainly the starting dummy half we need for years to come.

You may have noticed that i left Mark Gasnier & Jamie Lyon out of the centres, I just felt 12 months out you can't exactly predict where Gaz is going to be with his football. Of course he can fight his way in but its a long road back from playing rugby union in france.:hand:
If the side was picked today Jamie Lyon would again be there but he hasn't put two outstanding seasons together in his whole career hence why im looking to the future with Morris & Jennings. Aswell as trying to cement some combinations outwide with the Morris Twins and Jennings and Hayne. :think:
Forwards
Tom Learoyd Lahrs was voted players player in the last game so his probably a little unlucky not to be chosen but i really feel that the three forwards: Snowden, Douglas & Mannah are the future props for NSW.raise:
Second Rowers
NSW have a endless amount of second rowers to chose from but i felt: Lewis, Watmough & Bird are well in front of everyone else. I also chose Nathan Hindmarsh for the simple fact that its ok to have inexperienced guys in your side but at the same time its still vital you get that balance right with experienced campaginers such as Nathan. :mrgreen:

I would much rather Gidley in the #9 than Michael Ennis. I mean, yes, Ennis is one hell of a Hooker but he has too much aggression over the dumbest and littlest things, he just wants too fight and Gidley would be better at Hooker instead of Fullback because this year, he was terrible.
