Gidz is the best utility we have but he's not an 80 minute fullback. He'd perform better if they take the captaincy off him IMO

In all honesty though, Gidley isn't a rep standard fullback, simple as that.

Gidley is easily NSW's best option. Every year people want him dropped from the team all together regardless of whether he was one of the better players or not. Easily a rep standard fullback if you ask me.

exactly. why the hell does everyone want him dropped every year when he is always a standout. whenever i defend him people say its coz im a kinghts fan but he is easily one of the best fullbacks in the comp.

I wouldnt mind if he was dropped and had to concentrate on playing for us. That would be better. NSW have no chance the way their playing. IMO. Go with Dugan, Barrett and Hornby for 1,6,7.

If Gidley is dropped we'll never win origin. It's f*cking disgusting people saying he should be dropped, or he should be on the bench or he should lose his captaincy.

He's the best captain they have, he's the best player they have got. HE IS AND 80 MINUTE PLAYER. and every minute he is on there the better. He's far better in general then hayne, the guy who lost us the game and is now playing pretty ordinary tonight.

Its bad enough i have to go 1 on 1000 in other forums reminding those morons how stupid they are about there stupid witch hunt of Gidley. I would hate to think the same thing needs to be done to fellow Knights supporters.

Tbh, wouldnt you rather him play for the Knights? I really dont care for Origin anymore!

Of course i would, but he deserves to be in origin, and i still care about origin. Plus the last thing i wanna see is the club enter another era of being a one man team.

1. Hayne 6. Gidley 7. Pearce/Kimmorley 9. Ennis

When your playing against world class playermakers like thurston/lockyer we need someone who can compete at there level. I pick Barrett at No.6 , hes been there and done it before. Even though he plays for a crap team !! he can play well with good players around him . Il put Hayne at no.1 , Gidley at No.9. keep kimmorley at 7 .

LEAGUE legend Andrew Johns is under fire for overplaying his role as Blues trainer in the State of Origin on Wednesday night.

A number of players have privately complained he was being disrespectful to skipper Kurt Gidley and experienced playmaker Brett Kimmorley by calling all the shots while he was on the field. Gidley or Kimmorley could hardly get a word in whenever the Blues were in a huddle behind the posts after a Queensland try because Joey was doing all the yelling and screaming. One insider told us: "The boys appreciate his enthusiasm and his obvious knowledge of the game, but why bother picking a captain if Joey is going to run the show? "It was a bit embarrassing for Kurt and Noddy. And I don't think Joey would have copped this sort of thing happening when he was the captain."

NSW coach Craig Bellamy delivered one of the most fearful sprays in Origin history after the loss to the Maroons. Stunned players sat around at full-time as Bellamy let loose with an expletive-ridden tirade and accused the team of being too soft. One long-time NSW official described the blast as far worse than anything Phil Gould or Ricky Stuart had ever delivered after Origin defeats.

"The paint was peeling off the wall," one insider told us. "It was the best spray of all time. He thought they lacked passion, they lacked emotion, they lacked any tenacity and failed to give it their best shot. You certainly couldn't repeat his speech in a family newspaper." The Bellamy blast has been the talk of league circles since players returned to their clubs and told team-mates about what happened. NSW Rugby League general manager Geoff Carr told us: "Craig was obviously very upset and took the loss hard. I'm not aware of what was said to the players because I wasn't in the room, but I do know he was far from happy with the performance."

It was quite odd seeing Joey in that yellow trainer's top haha

passion from Bellamy is fine but I don't think it was a lack of effort that cost us...our guys ran hard but it was all one-out...change of tactics required...
