Round 8: Knights v Broncos @ EAS

I still think it could have been 28-6 haha..would have made the scoreline a little more embarassing but it was a great win. Honestly, i think if it wasnt for the long break im sure we could have put more points on them.

McManus had a quiet game, but Folau was shut down well. De Gois has had his best game in Newy Colours. Stats dont look right though 26 tackles, 89 metres (probably not finalised). Dureau was average today, did some great things (40/20) but did some stupid things especially when he had Ndaira (or was it Karawana?) to his left and could have passed and we would have gotten over the line again. Though Mullen was great at 5/8, looks more comfortable there. Simpson had a pretty good game considering he was coming back from injury. How fired up was Mad Dog though? He went missing at some points but marked Hodges really well.

DeGois didnt play the last quarter or so, thats why he stats dont look right, but certainly impressive for 60 minutes of footy esp when the team didnt really need to do much defense.

Still think somethings wrong . It says McManus made 84m or something. Just doesnt seem right  McManus hardly got a hand on the ball and didnt really make any runs

Brilliant win one of the best in the club's history
Everyone played well and it was easily our best performance of the season

While where at it lets make it 46-12 for Mullens dropped ball in the first half.

Why not add when Gidley took out Falou and there was about 5 knights around ready to pic up the crums, lets just say we dominated the game from about 10 minutes onwards, and the scoreline could havebeen a lot better, but im just glad we won :)

Most dominant win Ive seen in a long time. How about all our offloads. I guess the scoreline didn't show how much we dominated.

Yeh, Offloads were good tonight, esp in the wet. Brisbane also came up with some great trysaving tackles in the first half close to the line, scoreline could definately be a lot more ugly

how about ndairas run to set up mullen, if he go caught it was a crucial part and the broncos would have got the ball in good feild position, the run was very explosive.

Knights have a good team, and will make it far into the finals. I believe they will be in the GF.

Broncos need to learn how to play in the wet.

Knights had that won at half time.

From a Broncos' fan.

Great win. People will say that Broncos weren't playing their best and thats why we won.. But thats not really true. We never let them have the chance to play good. We clearly dominated that match.

All our players played good and capitalized on the conditions the game had. All players played their part in Brian Smiths genius plan. De Gois ripped the field up from dummy half. He knew exactly when to run and when not to run, catching markers offside and runnings through holes in the defence. Ndaria did well to replace him as well.

Gidley was great IMO. He went in at receiver a few times and chipped in with some good passes. Was there in support and was great out of dummy half. Very good effort from him last night.

McManus.... Can he ever play bad ? Not only did he keep Folau out of the game.. bar one mis timed catch... He was his usual self making good yards out of dummy half and hit ups down our own end. Did well to chase down Hunt when he made the break.

Sau and Uate.... I don't think we have seen such dangerous players on one side of the field since Gidley and Tahu. Both played very good, Uate was safe under the high ball, make some damaging runs, running over their forwards and backs. Scored an 80m try as well where no one came close to stopping him. Sau did some amazing things despite being in pain as you could tell. Oh and to stop the ball going out was ****ing great to watch.

Mad DOG! Didn't he play a blinder! He marked... umm.. Justin who ? :p. Not only did he rip the defence up, he defended quite well with McManus and pulled off a massive hit on Hodges.

Scott Dureau was good. Now once again i have to stick up for him. That try the he didn't score you can't really be critical of him. How many players would of backed themself ? Oh and who would of though Folau would pull off an amazing tackle like that? And you can't blame him for the Hunt break because he didn't score the try. We were in great field position with a good overlap. Anyway he did just what Brian Smith would of asked from him. Keep the passing short which he did working well with Faas to get up the field capitalizing on Broncos **** defence up the middle then working it wide to Mullen. His kicking was great as seen by the 40/20... or the 35/10 haha. Good solid game by Dureau.

Mullen played good too. Working good with the outside backs and with Dureau doing the dirty work in the middle and at first receiver it let him do what he does best... RUN the ball. Yes Brian.. You don't need your 100kg five-eighth to run the ball when Mullen does it better than all other five-eighth options.

Our forwards layed the platform tonight and did very well.

Great all round performance. Gotta love it!

That was the best chase, it's so heartbreaking when someone breaks through and runs full field and you hope and pray that someone catches them and normally no1 does but that was soooo great!

As for Doogs, wasn't he going off like a frog in a sock! Doogs ---> Maddog: Just add water.
