2 broncos players face diciplinary action
Broncos to discipline Steve Michaels, Nick Kenny after police caution

April 27, 2009 Brisbane Broncos players Steve Michaels and Nick Kenny face disciplinary action after they were cautioned by police about their behaviour in Byron Bay early on Sunday morning.
Utility back Michaels is alleged to have kicked a car, while front-rower Kenny is alleged to have urinated on a wall.

Both players were warned by police about their behaviour and told to move on.
Broncos chief executive Bruno Cullen said in a club statement that the club would take action even thought the players had complied with police directions and were neither detained nor charged for any actions.

"We were advised very early this morning that there may have been occasion for police to talk to two of our players over the weekend," Cullen said.
"I immediately began enquiries, and that involved speaking to the two players involved and the superintendant in charge of policing that district.
"He confirmed two players were spoken to on Saturday night and that they were co-operative, apologetic and remorseful.
"However we are extremely disappointed that the players put themselves in that situation. We are constantly reminding the players about acceptable levels of behaviour and the dangers of socialising, especially in unfamiliar territory.
"Therefore we will be dealing with the matter internally by disciplining the players involved.
"Once again, we are reminding players and representatives of the club not to put themselves in these types of situations."

If all 3 are out, we'd probably lose. But im not too worried, we can play Dureau at half and im sure he wont disappoint. Houston could probably slot in at 5/8 if Mullen cant play.

Maybe but the only other FB we have is Fawcett.

Moving Gidley to the halves, you are taking one of the best fullbacks in the comp and moving him to a place where he is completely ineffective.

Can't see it happening in a month of Sundays.

Nooooooooo he got named there when BS was doing some weird smoke and mirrors business with his line ups but he never lined up there

Oh really :fist: my bad. But i do recall him slotting in at 5/8 at some stage of a game.

@James, we don't have anyone else who can play 5/8 right now although Dureau seems to play his best when he's given complete control of the game.

Houston played a roving forward role last year, I think it was mainly to help Dureau in defence.
