7. Todd Carney
8. Kade Snowden

I can't see McManus making it, he wasn't great in his only origin game, and I think Hayne is better. In saying that, he played when Hayne was becoming the superstar nsw winger, so McManus got no ball, and got shown up by Inglis like many do.

City/Country will be interesting this year. Pearce will be city half, but country have so many 5/8 and no halves, it's going to be 7. Mullen 6. Carney with Campese on the bench, but then you also have Soward. Don't know any in form city halves. Other question would be, does Gidley get a run in city country if he gets back. He definitely won't be in the anzac test

Gidley is the best utility ATM!
no matter how on form Cronk is atm, he cant cover as many postitions as Kurt!

Everything is pretty well said. Although I don't agree with Josh Morris, our center stocks are a bit thin at the moment. Jamie Lyon would be my pick but I'm pretty sure he's not available. Morris is playing well, but I believe Tahu is a better option with more X-factor even though he's probably not in the selector's favour.

The Stewart/Dugan debate is a 50/50 call and I'd be happy either way. I think Dugan is more devastating as a runner, and Stewart is smarter with a better passing game.

Trent Merrin, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Tariq Sims, Luke Bailey, Luke Douglas?

I'd probably go TLL or Sims out of the bunch. If you want impact these are the players to bring it. The rest are hard workers but don't really strike me as advantage line breakers.

Call it Knights bias but NSW could do alot worse then pick James McManus, he was pretty average in his only Origin appearance but I think he deserves another shot, thoughts?

Yeah, I can't see how they could pass up Mcmanus. His form this year has been great.

The more i think, i change my mind, i think we need Soward in there over Carney. :P My reasons being -

Maloney - misses too many tackles
Campese - no reason, just behind Soward & Mullen for me
Wallace - ^
Pearce - crap
Carney - solid but hasn't been electrifying tbh

And we really need to pick the same-ish team. Soward deserves another shot after last year, he got better each game & really showed himself to be an Origin player. Do we want a player that has played 3 good Origin games now, knows what to expect or do we want someone who hasn't. Mullen is purely just better than Pearce aswell. Soward is consistent every week, unlike everyone else, he hasn't done anything wrong. Picking anyone else at five-eighth is just doing the same thing we've been doing over & over again, we need to learn from QLD & pick Soward again for the 3 games.

Mateo has to make a decision if he's going to play for the Blues or England. Will he even make the NSW side? I think so. Him and Tony Williams would generate amazing impact. A mix of flare and brutal force is exactly what we need when QLD are tiring.

And I think Gallen being capable of playing most of the game at prop lets NSW have 3 backrowers on the bench imo, especially when Snowden is probably the only NSW prop looking the goods so far and guys like Watmough can play a prop-style role.

8. Gallen
9. Buderus
10. Snowden
11. Scott/G Stewart
12. Bird
13. Lewis

14. Gidley
15. Watmough
16. Mateo
17. Williams

It doesnt matter what order theyre in but I think ALL of these guys are a MUST for the team

As much as id love to see him play for NSW i have to agree, Im not a fan of these Uate's Mateo's etc being able to play SOO

I agree, but Mateo was born in Sydney, at least. Still, he's decided upon Tonga, I'd prefer he stuck with that now ... he is their captain, after all.

Fair enough he was born in Sydney but he chose too play for Tonga and should not be able to change

Ah so what how often does Tonga play, once every billion years. He's a born and bred NSWelshman, he has every right to play Origin and hopefully he does

Doesnt matter how often they play. But that is another matter too. Need something to keep players interested in those Lower ranked countries
