Who will make their debut for Knights in 2010?

We are now halfway way through 2010 and Rick Stone hasnt used any Rookies yet. Who Will Debut This Year Im Thinking Pete Mata' Utai and Byron Fruen

Considering how light we are up front I'd be hoping for Edwards to make a debut. If we're only choosing fromt he NYC then Jake Finn, Cruise Wilson and Zane Tetevano wouldn't be bad choices.

Aiolamai's runs look a bit slow, I don't know whether it's because of his speed or what but he seems to try to use his weight more than his legs. I like Josh but his fitness is lacking, does he train with the FG squad? If not he should be, he'll learn all about fitness and be a better player for it. Although in saying that our FG team look like they're lacking fitness.

Been thinking of making a thread like this one for a while
To be honest i dont think anyone is going to have a chance to step up and show what they have unless stone is told he has to blood new players. I can ee deadwood staying in the team till seasons end

Who i would like to see step up however
Kevin Nequarma (spelt wrong i know)
Sulivan wiht some bench appearences
Peter Mata
There is about 5 forwards physically ready to make the jump but posibly mentally not up to it id like to see alot of them come in once were out of finals contention. This is boost confidence and also prepare them for next season

I hope Joel Edwards

Another thing annoying me is how we have been treating this guy. Coming out in the paper saying he will make his debut last week and he wasn't even named.

Must be an anti climax for the guy when Stone decides to put a no one back in Naiqama on the bench instead.

Yeah that's true. Imagine the emotional rollercoaster this kid is on. He gets named for a debut and then we drop him for Naiqama on the bench. The way we're treating him he'll be the next Natusch.

From what I have seen, I would give Edwards a go, aswell as Zane Tetevano and Mata'utia. In saying that, out of all the players that I mentioned, Edwards looks to be the only player fully ready for a FG debut.

Totally forgot about Tovo. His legs alone should be a reason to bring him up to our FG squad. Him and Edwards would be a step forward for our front row. Promoting our younger players should be first and foremost for this recruitment team especially with the calibre of players we're looking to sign.

Yeah, i really think if we are out of finals contention we should start blooding Edwards & Naiqama. I'd like to see Ailaomai & Fruean get a go aswell as Fawcett (To give him a chance to prove himself before releasing). Players for next year IMO are Roberts, Tetevano & Mata'utia. Then maybe Chris Adams for 2012.

I'd like to see Edwards and Tovo given a go off the bench at least
couldn't be much worse than what we've got already huh?
a bit of youthful exuberance could do wonders

I watched the NYC yesterday all the halves (smith, Davis, Roberts) played great they all have bright futures. Mata Utai looked good once again and neenan simpson is the nxt preston campbell putting chip kicks in was a great win for the nyc team

Aiolamai's runs look a bit slow, I don't know whether it's because of his speed or what but he seems to try to use his weight more than his legs. Alomai is one of the fastest players over 40 metres in the NYC. Definitely the fastest forward (not including hookers)

and yes he is in the fg squad. Pretty sure he usually trains with them for the first half of the week then with NYC for the end of the week

Well with 6 games to go i'd like to see all these 3 guys get a go.

It seems unlikely at this point that even Kevin will get a go but 6 weeks is a long time. Only 6 weeks ago was Joel Edwards' debut.

But anyway here are my reasons for them:

Fawcett: Great fullback, good speed, good highball, wouldn't release him

Fruean: Nice little forward that's running style is similiar to Sau's. Probably don't need him in future years.

Naiqama: We all know what this guy can do, doesn't really need an explanation.

First up no new guys untill it is mathematically impossible to make the 8

Fawcett dont think he will be getting a run this year i think hes about to be shown the door
Fruean Is also a little chance i think hes searching for another NRL club

Kev Naiqama adn Peter Mata for maybe the last 2 or 3 games of the season though io cannot see uate wanting to let anyone into his spot with line break and try records in his sights.
C. wilson form NYC i know hes not ready but i think he would look cool running around in FG with his hair and all

Out of all the boys mensioned the only worth considering this year are Mata and Kev. The rest are bums and are suited to NSW cup.

Mata, is a good consistent player but has nothing about his game that will benefit the knights. IMO Wes is the older more experienced version of Mata

However! With Kev! he is a player that could really light up on the wing in FG, he is Uate like

..

Id actually like to see Peter Matautia given a couple of games off the bench at the end of the season bring him in at the end and give Degois a rest and you could either put him to fullback and move Gids into the hooker or just put him straight into dummy half. Either way it will give Stone an indication as to his potential at NRL level.

Sione Tovo should be given a couple of games aswell just to see whether he is going to be of any use in the future its hard to make that call when he is playing against bums in the NSW cup.

Jimmy Fawcett should be let go we've already got Shannon McDonnell there as backup. Kevin Naiqaima still has alot of work to do under the high ball and in defence so delaying his debut until next season is probably for the best.
