Who will Bennett axe, retain & recruit for 2013?

I'd love for Vuna to come back here, but if he has a good showing the Wales tour, he could solidify a spot even if on the bench.
 
With the way this lot are playing I think we definately need a cleanout, Taia,Faaoso,Cuthbertson,Wes,Sau,Hilder need to be shown the door. All have been very average this season and Cuthbertson has done nothing but make errors. I personally would like to have a player like Stagg or even Todd Lowrie replace our current lock. A young backrower to play off the bench, maybe Boyd Cordner from Roosters. One thing i think we lack is somebody who can come off the bench and help the pack keep going forward when Snowden and Mase have a break, Mose Masoe would do the job much better than Cuthbertson. Finally we need an impact hooker that can speed up the play when Bedsy has a rest, IMO Adams just does the same job as Danny. We need somebody who can come on and get the forwards rolling forward, somebody like Matty Ballin or Kevin Kingston, Ballin would be first choice though. Don't worry about centres Gagai and Tahu will do fine and it won't be until Gids retires that well need to go hunting for a new halve to accompany Mullen.

Segyaro would be perfect for that. But i cant really see Bedsy carrying on past this season? Hopefully we can try and get someone like Ballin in his place but. I would LOVE to see Mase Mosoe wearing OUR red and blue jersey! Ive always been a big fan of him.

I think something like that would be achievable, or not

A forward pack that'll bruise and tire the opposition and not let in many points and then a big angry forward pack to come on and do some damage.

We may as well see the likes of Tuimavave and Roberts/Stig released as well....
 
How on earth is it practical to release Stig & Roberts? Make our depth in the halves even worse? Roberts is an NYC player in FG, halves usually need about a year against men before they come good in FG. Look at Daly-Cherry Evans for example. Just because Tyrone isn't killing it doesn't mean he's a bad player. Stig did very well last year, he had a whole year in QLD Cup, but he went down in form because of the gameplan he was given, which was to step into the line whenever he wanted. Stig & Roberts will be good players, releasing them is totally dumb IMO.

Its not cause i think they're a bad player, they both will be good players in the future, there i no doubt about it. And it has nothing to do with there performances in first grade, nothing ****es me of more then people on here saying drop Roberts, his not good enough, put Kelly in, blah blah blah, i defend him, his only young and still learning, i dont expect him to set the competion alight coming into FG into Kurt Gidleys boot, especially being a halfback and ordering the team around. But with Kelly, Davis, Smith coming through, one of them would have to be, better money spent else where? If they both signed for low $$ then im all for keeping them both, im just thinking about the money that could end up us buying that quality prop/half/hooker etc.
 
I have no doubt in my mind Buderus has another season in him. He's in great form and he'll never lose his toughness and ability no matter how old he is. I'd love to see him play on next year and we have a great season, send him out on the high that he deserves. Saying that, I still think we need a younger zippy hooker like Segeyaro or even Waddell to come off the bench because there's no way he'll keep playing 80 minutes.

For now Adams is doing a solid enough job, good defence, reasonable service, backs up. I'm waiting on Clydsdale, probably wouldn't be ready by next year as he's so young but if he's as good as people have said he should be our next priority as hooker.

Adams good defence ? There is a difference between having good technique and being a sound "hitter" than being a good defender. See last Saturday night. Adams has done nothing to earn the almost rave reviews he's received on here and I was one of those who put a wrap on him ages ago.
 
I don't see a problem with his defence, he has good technique & is keen to get some work done, does plenty of cover tackles. He is capable of putting a decent hit on too. He's probably just a tad bit small. My post is not intended to bag out Hilder, I just don't think Hilder will even be here in 2013 to be a backup hooker option. Adams will probably be lucky to be here aswell.
 
Josh - with the score at 20-16 Adams was responsible for a terrible effort that resulted in a try to Thurling. It's only one example but it was a costly one. I think we miss a fit De Goise badly.
 
Well in my opinion i just think he slipped, not so much misjudging the run. I agree that we miss De Gois' spark.
 
In my opinion I believe we will see one of Sau or Wes go before 30 June. Fox Sports mentioned this morning that both were now officially being shopped around to other clubs. Not fussed about either really although Sau was my favorite player for a while when he burst onto the scene. This is all for the great of good.
 
You would think if a player knew he was being shopped around he'd have a dig to do the best he can for himself and his family. Doesn't seem to be the case with our pretenders.
 
Which is why I have no problem with it. I know it's a bit cliche but Bennett is a better coach than myself or anyone on here (with the exception of the White Knight (Genius)) so we have no choice but to ride the wave. If we have more of the same next year; we kill him and use his body as fertilizer for Hunter Stadium.
