Who will Bennett axe, retain & recruit for 2013?

Yeah that team is great, but you would sacrifice every local junior in the team for imports?? Not me, I want the Knights to go back to being the team that has people in it that you might actually have a chance of knowing someone who knows him. I thought Bennett was supposed to be the great white hope who was instructed by Tinkler to stop the flow of our best local juniors being lured down the F3? He doesn't even attend any NSW Cup training sessions so how can he develop them? The odd lucky ones are still getting some help if they don't work and can train fulltime but if you can't do that then Wayne don't want to know you. Most of the young guys from last year have their managers trying to get them signed up somewhere next year because Bennett doesn't seem keen to keep them.Shame.

What I am getting at is ther is no point having 6+ young halves playing nsw cup r aren't quite ready for FG, we need to be developing our forwards.
 
i hate to say it but based on this years poor form it looks like another, yet another:fist:, cleanout is required...i mean we've been 'rebuilding' since 2007...'looking to the future' and going through some of that 'short-term pain' bull**** that the puppets love to trot out...well I say one of these days it has to be about THIS season...
 
What are we gonna do with Wes Naiqama? Doesn't come off until 2014 & doesn't look like getting a gig in first-grade. Same with Sa'u & Tetevano too through to 2013. Hilder is getting there aswell after being dropped for 2 weeks now. I'm fine with Tetevano staying as he'd be on small cash but we can't have Naiqama, Sa'u & Hilder all playing NSW Cup every week on reasonable contracts, especially Wes.
 
Bit of a kick in the arse, could have taken a pretty decent contract to go up to Dragons and play fullback for them, and look at him now, wont crack FG for a while now and playing in NSW cup...
 
Yeah surely we'll keep Naiqama for at least another year which sucks and get rid of guys like Sau, Stig and Hilder a year early. It's just a shame that Wes has gone back to the player that we all bag. Players like him shouldn't be used as depth, it's young guys like the Matautia bros and Likiliki who should be there waiting in the wings, they're on a third of the money and just as talented if not more.

Totally agree. Is it possible that Bennet will try and move them on.
 
It just doesn't make sense why Wes was signed with Wayne already having his finger in the pie? The more I think about it, Sau is crap.....

These things are always sad, especially getting to know & love these guys since 2008, but it's probably better for the club. If they both move though, that only leaves Likiliki as the only established centre behind Gagai & Tahu, which is not good.
 
Just have to LOL at Bennett on that one. A blind deaf man could see both were signed up on way overs, and even then S'au shouldn't have been re-signed at all.

Sa'u was re-signed before Bennett was even mentioned as a possibility to come to the Knights. However it was a bit dumb to get in a bidding war with the Dragons for Wes when he's towards the end of his career, even when he was in that awesome form i thought 3 years seemed too long.
 
Wouldn't be a bad move getting rid of these 2 guys now. They're on overs and surplus to requirements. We have Tahu, Gagai, Likiliki, Kevin, Chanel & Pete (and Pat) and Will Smith ready to go and McKinnon and Filipo are handy centres too. I get we need depth but these young guys should be our depth, our highest paid centres shouldn't be playing NSW Cup every week. Releasing these 2 alone could almost pay the salary for a top prop or halfback or hooker so why not.
