That's ridiculous, I know injury isn't anyone's fault but If your at a stage in your life where your body just isn't up to the contact and your really letting your team and town down you should really look at a different path, I think he gets treated to special cause he is the captain but Wayne needs to seriously look at those stats. Didn't think at the time but would have been great to ask midley in knightsinsider about kurt.

I honestly think and have said for a while that as good as he's been he needs to retire. There comes a time in everyone's life when your body won't stand up to what your mind and heart want to do. That time has arrived for Gidley. On the other hand if any of us injured ourselves while working at our job we'd expect to be paid compo for as long as it takes to get right. He's injured himself playing for our Club he needs to be paid but surely doesn't expect another contract.
 
I wrote to Kurt on Fox NRL twitter if he can concede that his best position in team is off the bench moving forward this year, he strongly denied it and give that cliche answer 'I still have what it takes'.

I just think he's in total denial for what's best for the team.

Next year we have no other option, his willingness and ability compared to others is decent. There is just no one who would start at hooker ahead of him. If he plays around 60 minutes, gives Clydesdale another 20 and doesn't overplay his hand, I think we are fine.

If injury does occur (it will, hopefully not that badly) I'd much rather prefer Adams or Redman over Waddell ugh.

Yes of course, but I'm more talking about this year. Just with Buderus fit I'd prefer to see him start with Gidley off the bench and leave Roberts in the halves.

Oh really? That doesn't surprise me ... told all off-season he was halfback, training there, he even said in interviews quite adamantly that he was a halfback, even when Roberts carved up while he was out early ...

Then he gets two or three games there and gets the punt!

I do sympathise with him on that.

I hope he plays all of next season, otherwise hooker is looking like a real weakness. This season he's not really missed.
 
Heard a whisper that month could extend to season's end. However when he gets back, No. 14 hooker, back rower and/or utility back. That is how Tim Sheens used Kurt.
 
The report on the Knights site said the specialist said he's "at least a month" from returning. A month is pretty close to the end of the season as it is, so I am pretty sure that rumour is accurate.
 
Players take longer to get back on the paddock today than they did in years gone by. I have no doubt the reason is the banning of anabolic steroids. Steroids accelerate healing. Ligaments and tendons will only show a small decrease in healing time compared to muscles and bones but even in those areas there will be an improvement.

Still 8 weeks and if we make finals could use him, if its season ending why wouldn't they just say so

Well he said the month could extend to season's end ... going by the article they will reassess after a month, but it seems like it just depends on how it responds to treatment, and nobody's sure how long it will be, yet.
