Who do we drop for him?
Can't exactly drop Buderus and Gower with the way they're playing but we can't exactly have two utilities off the bench surely? :confused:
 
Since Gower is only there to play backup hooker, Gidley is better at it and offers more so he'll replace Gower.
 
I might be sounding like a broken record here, but Gidley should be on the Bench and should hand the captaincy over to Mullen or Gidley should retire to free up money so we can sign an experienced halfback, hooker and possibly a decent goalkicker . I would give Adam Clydesdale a couple of matches in NSW Cup though.
 
Was just announced that he's out for the next month. He will replace Gower when he's back though, although I'm not sure he'll get the captaincy back, Mullen has been doing an awesome job as captain, wouldn't be surprised if he held onto it now
 
After seeing the specialist on Thursday, Newcastle Knights captain Kurt Gidley has been told he is at least a month away from returning to football.
Gidley has been sidelined since Round 11 with a foot injury and was hopeful of a return as early as next week.
Unfortunately the specialist said he requires approximately four more weeks of rehabilitation.
"Not great news at specialist yesterday unfortunately. Very slow healing injury. At least a month to go," Gidley said.

He is set to miss more games then he plays, at least 14, that is ****, how many games has he played in the last 3 years? Surely less then 50%
 
I dont really like how we play or when Gower plays hooker, just seems unorginised and less crisp then when Bedsys on. I really, really hope Bennett has the balls to play Gidley of the bench for Gower. We needs Bedsy to start to get the role on, and Gidley for impact at hooker.

2014, Gidley starts, takes a pay cut, get a few moon boots and slings ready made for him, Mullen captain.

On minimum 400k

2011: $22,000 a game
2012: $80,000 a game
2013: $40,000 a game

Tough gig.
