Hastings will play lock and hooker in reserves

If Knights sign Pezet for 2026 they will try to get him released for 2025.

Says recruitment officer Adam Doyle joins a growing list of staff who have left after falling out with Knights "adviser" Blake Cannavo.

Says Maps hasn't regained confidence after his 2 shoulder injuries and his performance against Manly went down like a lead balloon. He is on 300k this year. The segment on Maps is sub titled "On the road to nowhere?"

Says his money is on Seb Sua to be the next to debut. Quotes Ron Griffiths as saying he has been pushing Seb's barrow for a while and that he'll handle it for sure. Toohey says Seb will attract interest from other clubs if he isn't re-signed by Nov 1.

Toohey is taking a break till 22/8.

Why hasn’t Gardiner employed a CEO for the Knights. He already has a job. As far as I know we’re the only club with a part-time CEO.

Although this is a sport that allows PVL to run another sport while being chairman. Allows a player manger to play the role of journo on an Nrl show.

In many ways it’s still such an amateur sport. You see why the Storm, Roosters, and Panthers are successful. They don’t even have to do anything that remarkable, they simply have to just be competent and sit back and let the rest of the dumb clubs screw themselves over time and time again.

Also with the CEOs from Storm, Roosters, Panthers etc. You never hear about them in the media but they just do their job very well and are a part of their club's success.

Gardiner reminds me a lot of Pascoe. Said it several times, good with finances but zero clue how to run a footy club. On top of that is a total control freak and I don't see us ever winning a comp with him as CEO and this Cannavo bloke sounds like bad news.

Gardiner is a control freak and as long as there is no "fulltime" CEO at the Knights we will continue to struggle.

In some ways you could look at it being, we're at the final part of contracts that were signed back when we struggled for good juniors and talent. Now we are being brutal, rip the bandaid off so we can potentially and hopefully, lock up our best local juniors in years (such as Hopwood and Lanu to 2028) and re-steady our Salary Cap. All the while locking in a young half or two.

Therefore the future won't have us trying overpay juniors but evenly spread them out. Won't keep them all, but keep the best and have a competitive and passionate team.

I;d have to say we've done well in past yr or so to not lose many of the SG Ball team from last couple years and locking them up to decent contracts. So whilst this initial phase is frustrating (yet hopefully the team that runs out in final few games this year plays with an incredible amount of passions) I am still very excited for the future with Parr, O'Sullivan running the show and if we can have someone like Brad Arthur and Brian McDermott around for a couple more years, that is some serious experience siting and waiting in the wings.

We are not going to make the 8 because AOB ball is bone headed and very predictable. It is time now to give some of our best juniors that Billy and others on here have spoken about. We now have very little to lose and at least the supporters and the young players can see a way to the future.
But to do that takes intestinal fortitude, daring and maybe altering bone head ball.
Come on Aobi, have a go!

Another one, how's this Cannavo got a say?
And exactly what role does he have?
Some sort of advisory role, third party sponsorship
