Toohey's News

Tuala has been one of our best. In no way does he deserve to be dropped. I think you’d be rudely shocked how much negative meters Armstrong would make.
Between Tuala and Marzhew, it isn't Tuala who should be dropped.
Tuala was very good in his first few games this season but he’s not shown much of late (averaged 182 meters a game in his first 4 full games but only 113 a game in his last 5). I’ve said on here before that Marzhew has the occasional brain fart but he has X factor. I guess it comes down to what you want from a winger.

Incidentally after posting this I opened insta and the link below was the first on my feed (who says they aren’t listening/watching everything we do?!?)

I’d say Armstrong is infinitely more likely to do something like this than Tuala is!

Can’t deny his speed. Absolutely. But I can’t match him in defence and general safety over Tuala just yet. It’s a tough call to make, but it’s also why he’s getting time in the wing in Cup. See how he fares there.

I think we just need to see what happens next time a winger goes down when Ponga is back.
If they pick Armstrong, we will see what he offers on an edge in first grade. Until then, we are all making guesstimations.

I have no doubt that Armstrong will move to another club or ESL for next year, he will be offered better than we can pay due mainly as we are ok with F/b, Ponga and Sharpe and others in junior comps, better the wingers we have than changing someone to suit our needs.
I wish Armstrong well for whatever his decision is

Sharpe bigger than Armstrong sounds wrong.
Having said that, Sharpe has grown a fair bit in the last 2 years and Armstrong has got an inch or two taller and filled out a lot.
Armstrong had legs so skinny when he arrived here he could have got a part time job as a circus freak. He literally had no visible calf muscle.

I think he looks good on the wing too. His turn of speed on that second try in particular would have put more points on the board for us in quite a few instances this season. No he isn’t as heavily built as Tuala, but he’s much quicker and handy under a high ball.

Not ****ting on Tuala, just my observation

It would have its pros and cons. The pros are he's good under the high ball, elusive and quick, so always a chance to score or find a way through to make a linebreak. The cons are pretty much everything else, yardage, physicality etc. That's a pretty important part of the game. And at this rate he's likely to get offered a contract somewhere else so he'll have some options. Not sure he'll be offered a starting spot, but maybe the chance to fight for one.

You related to the Sharpe family Billy. Quite aggressive towards Armstrong. Not the nicest comment nor necessary

30/5
Knights think that Talagi will remain at Parra, but still have an offer on the table for him.

Still some talk about making Schuster an offer.

Knights plan to talk to Pezet in November if he comes onto the market for the 2026 season (doesn't re-sign for Melbourne before then)

Tyrone Thompson won't now join us till the start of pre-season in November - Toohey doesn't say why, but it sounds like he won't be released from Union in time.

With Schiller unlikely to be released, the 30th top 30 spot will probably be filled from in house - no word on who will get the spot.

The Knights had a 180k a season offer on the table for 3 months for Myles Martin but eventually withdrew the offer and spent the money elsewhere when he didn't take it up.

Super Rugby GF is a week and a half before the cut off date for NRL signings but he’d still technically be under contract beyond that point. Pretty ****ty if the Chiefs are just refusing to release him early for the sake of it even after their season is finished.
