Toohey's News

Can’t see any problem, if he is regarded as better than say Johns and Jones then it improves the team, if not better then not interested, in the hands of recruitment

Sione is 26 now, so he still has a lot of years left in his playing career.

He turns 27 in a month, so would be 28 next year. Also, he was never that good to start with. And, as James says, still has issues with concussion.

More than anything it would show a total lack of ambition. We already told him he wasn't good enough and to hit the road, we should be aiming much higher, either in the market or trying to develop kids.

Our squad would absolutely be better off if we effectively traded out someone like Brodie Jones for Sione next season, which is effectively what would be occurring if it happened.

Would be on bottom dollar, plenty of experience now, consistently performed in SL for a couple of seasons in a row and was genuinely quality in the WCC against Penrith.

I was never the biggest fan of Sione's stint in the forwards here but it would be rather short-sighted to not consider what he could add to the squad. Plenty of players have come back from a mid-career SL stint much better players and added considerable value to their NRL squad for the rest of their career.

27/5
Says the main reason for the team changes is not Ponga failing at 5/8 or Miller's form. The main reason is the competitive edge that Gamble brings to the side. Says Gamble showed early in the season that he's better than just a fill in and deserves a starting spot.

Says Hastings worked for 2 hours with Berick Barnes on his kicking and didn't just work on goal kicking. Barnes worked with the team on kickoffs and and kicking for metres after penalties.

Says missing out on SOO should fire up the twins.

Miller has been unplayable back there. Gamble has been really good in his chances as a starter. KP is safer and more experienced at 1 than Miller. I think his hand has been forced. If we still had Nick Meaney, I reckon KP is still playing 6.

Yep the errors that have creeped into Millers game would have definitely been part of the reason for the move. Fair call on Gamble but to say that is the sole reason. The head knocks would have surely been part of the decision for the move. In saying all that, looking foward to seeing how the rejigged spin goes. And Miller at 14. I think if Mann was available he would have been 14, but fingers crossed Miller can give it a good crack.

He said it was the main reason, not the sole reason.

I’m wishing we still had Hoy, tbh.

When even the cheerleader Toohey says that the twins form doesn't deserve NSW selection you know they're taking the ****.

Dan still makes his metres but as everyone tells me in regards to Klem, much more to the game then the stats. His effort around the ruck in defence (or lack thereof) is the most concerning thing for me.

I'm sure they would have killed it in Origin if they did get a gig, which makes the club form harder to swallow.

it's their body language for me that's the dead give away. It's hard to watch the way they slowly get to their feet and stay on their haunches after a run. It's literally high school footy stuff. If you're a leader you need to project leadership with body language, action and talk.

From a moral and legal standpoint we should never touch him again, I wonder if he still try's to run over people twice his size in the ESL. His biggest problem was he never got over the fact that he couldn't trample grown men like he used to trample his peers in SG ball........ Oh and the fact he was slow, no footwork, no ball playing and horrible defensive reads.

Guy was shocking, I said it the entire time he was here and initially nearly got hunted out of town for it,
