Happy with Hunt, 2 years is good, don’t need arrow at the moment is our strongest position, Levi stays could be interesting with Brailey and Watson. Rather he stayed than pay him to play elsewhere but he might be long term reserve grade.
 
Turn there back on Skd , he was never going to get a 3 yr deal here or in the Nrl so the knights have done him a favour .

Pearce's captaincy was just media idiots like Buzz drumming up white noise and nothing more. None of the Newcastle guys seem to be questioning it much and it seems like those talks of causing a ruckus at a private wedding (which is no ones business) has died down and the pathetic Sydney media are trying to clutch at straws again.

And lol @ Warriors for thinking they have leverage. It's why they are 3rd last at the moment and not near the 8. If Levi stays here for another $350k I don't think we'll find many people complaining even if other teams come knocking which I imagine they will.

Hunt signing an extension is probably the most pleasing news.
 
Barnett looked pretty ordinary to begin the season, but as the season progressed he looked like one of our best. If he could turn his consistency around he’ll be real damaging for us in the long run.
 
I'm not about to throw the baby out with the bath water because I think he can improve, but we still have massive problems with our right side defence of which Barnett should be a key cog. As I say, i think the right coaching can help get this right for him, and the whole right side.

Don’t go blaming Barnett for the poor decisions made outside of him.

Other than Klemmer he was easily our best forward. There’s blokes with bigger reputations on a lot more money that had half the season Barnett did.
 
He certainly wasn't as bad as some outside him, he wasn't entirely blameless either

Toohey has done a player review for the year and ranked them.
He has Klem and Barnett 1st & 2nd which I think is pretty close. But he has Pearce as 3rd which I strongly disagree with, I would have had Hunt, Watson or SKD.

to be fair the only time we looked any good was off the back of pearces game, and he did get 5 motm in a row which would be easily more than anyone else in the squad.

- Lino out for 6 months for shoulder surgery.
-Obrien priority target is a strike centre and not a half.
-Crossland and Simi Sisagai to get 1st shot at 5/8. With Watson and Mann still in calculation.
-Capewell too expensive.
-Looks like Herman will stay.
-Club confident Levi will be gone as the Gold coast looms.
-Knights to have a Storm feel about it in the coaching team. Knights to get a wrestling coach, a ref coach, kicking coach.
-Dan and Hunt have new 2 year deals.
-Barnett next play in talks to extend.

I like the way we’re going about it.

On the strike centre is there even anyone decent available? Maybe we are after Bird.

I still think Watson is our best option at 6. Especially if Levi doesn’t get a deal somewhere else.

All I can think of is,
Dylan Walker, Jack Bird,
Michael Jennings.
Talks of Curtis Scott, J Morris and Aitkin being available.
But who knows who will become available in the off season.

I'm happy with Hunt and Best as Centre's and would preffer a good 5/8.
Moga as back up centre.

Horrible human but Walker would be great for us.
