Warren Ryan is a myth!Warren Ryan would have made that call 10 minutes into the first training session I think - not after half a season of trying other things that didn't work.

Dead right , We now have a good defensive coach as well ( not that I know a lot about him )just like Melbourne , so hopefully our defence will once again be like the old days and hurt the opposition .Spot on, Ethan.
Every season there's some bagging out about the performance of the roster and recruitment success/failures.
There's no denying that every season has been an improvement on the previous, case-in-point is the quality of the signings we made for 2018.
Quality players attract other quality players, everyone wants to play with the best and have a realistic shot at the title. The greatest improvement in skills and abilities in all areas of life are when you challenge yourself against tougher opposition and fight for success. This starts on the training paddock with players knowing they need to perform, wanting to outdo their teammates and hold their place in the team.
Without Ponga we may have struggled to land Pearce, without Pearce and Ponga we'd more than likely struggle to land Klemmer. This trend will continue, quality players will seek us out rather than us needing to pay overs.
On the flip side, despite winning more games there are definitely deficiencies in some areas, particularly defense and closing out games. The experience and abilities of particularly the new recruits will strengthen these areas and turn them from liabilities into strengths. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to happen quickly enough, but it will.
While the team we support in 2019 will be better than 2018, it's the teams of 2020 and beyond which provide the most anticipation.
I agree I think he is still a great defensive centre but his attack is dead800k for Jennings is a joke. I wouldn’t sign him for half that. He’s well past his best.
agree with almost everything you say but you can’t say parra are a poor team on paper should be a top 8 if not 4 I’m not a massive fan of their coachA change of scenery will do him good. He was fantastic at the Panthers and a gun at the Roosters. Plus he’ll be playing alongside Pearce, SKD and Guerra again. Ponga, Watson, Pearce could make Jennings look like his former rep standard self. He was in a poor environment both on and off the field at Parra as well as with a poor team in general.
Parra over achieved in 2017 with an incredibly soft draw. Their squad looks horrendous on paper in my opinion.

Parra have a poor culture and their forward pack is fairly average with a few juniors not developing enough to be a genuine threat to the comp. Semi was a massive cog to their team and part of their success in 2017, take him out and you’re screwed, similar to us with the Uate of 2010-2012.I
