Dodged a bullet re: Will Chambers though. He was cooked two years ago and I’d be shocked if the time away from the game has improved that.
 
Why we enquired about Chambers I’ll never know. Guy is a ball hog, GF try bombing merchant.

I for one would love Hopoate. Oats would be fantastic too but hoppa is a great money ball move. Wouldn't be to expensive, rep experience and big game experience which we really need for those soft tries we seem to let in when we don't get the rub of the green. When he was signed to the eels and dogs he was meant to be the star. I can really see him blossom with no pressure and make for a great defensive edge with tyson Frizell. Also he is only 28
 
Hopoate has been playing for a crap team for too long. He was classy when he was younger, seems like the kind of guy that would excel doing a role at the Roosters like the Morris bros. I don't think we're the right club to bring that out of him at the moment though.
 
I think having those two years off to do his Mormon mission took something away from him, lost a bit of his youthful dynamism and he never got it back, but he’s still strong, athletic, has good hands, defends well, and is a leader. We could do worse (and apparently almost did).
 
The dogs fans would drive Hoppa jnr up here at this point he's going so bad.

But they didn't rate Sue either and he's giving great value for us.

Several players are on their last chance in the game today. OBI considered replacing Tuala with Jones, but stuck with Tuala.

Pearce has been out for 14 games in total and we have won 3 of them. Toohey says fans who want to ditch Pearce "have rocks in their heads".

Sydney press are saying we don't train hard enough - last year they were saying we train too hard - O'Brien says nothing wrong with our training.

Dom Young had minor surgery and is out for another 3 or 4 weeks.

Tautau Moga was close to playing for Souths before he was suspended for 4 weeks for abusing a ref in reserve grade last week.
 
I said it in another thread. We can go on a streak. That’s one thing I’m trying to remain optimistic about. Hopefully this is our rough patch then it’s all roses from here on. I heard OB saying he’s given Crossland a real simple game plan. I think he needs to be backed and told do whatever you want, play your natural game. Too much thought goes into footy at this level. Just commit to your tackles and push around the ball.

If the other 16 on the field competed like Mitch we would be top 4 team every year.?

Storm and Roosters have 17 players that compete every week.
