Glasby is on more money than Ese. I wouldn't mind if they let him go and kept Ese.
Should be able to sell him being an Origin player.

Yeah thats a tough one.
Ese has potential to be better than Glasby if he is given the game time and Ese puts in the effort, though atm Glasby is a fair bit ahead of Ese in many areas that will take Ese a few more years to be at.

Ese has Glasby covered in meters per run and offloads per game and thats it.

Glasby is given a role to keep our middle D tight and follow the ball to cover others.
Glasby also does 50 other little things that go unnoticed every week that makes him a SOO player.

who signed levi to his current contract? they may believe his now on overs, and think brailey can do the job for half the price, which can be the difference between keeping a player like ese. its all a juggling act and in reality no one but the club knows whats going on. by the sounds of it it seems there may be a few backended deals, which you cant be critical of as it may of been the only way to get certain players here whilst keeping under the cap when it was really tight.

I thought Levi was under $400,000 a season if that is the case I highly doubt we would have signed Brailey for less than $200,000

We were well under the cap for 2016 but the rumour was we were over 700k for 2017 which is why in his first year Brownie was forced to sign guys like Brendan Elliot, Mitch Barnett, as well as being extremely lucky Mullen got done for a positive drug test and a few guys like Snowden and McManus were medically retired.
2018-19 was the first time they were really allowed to spend which is why earlier in the year they were trying to get guys like Matt Scott and Jack Bird and could pay overs for Ponga.

Dont forget there were the rumours that the NRL were forcing the Knights to spend their salary cap and weren't allowed to have $2-$3m sitting around. Then Pearce came along and Klemmer the year after.

Being backended a bit may make sense as Levi wanted a release early into his contract when we were looking around for other hookers like Griffin but Brownie said no because well who else was there...Now that he is potentially going into the third year of his deal with maybe a bit more money in it he is all of a sudden happy to fight for his spot. Which adds up.

I don't know much about how much players sign for but I would be unhappy if we signed Brailey a bench hooker behind his brother who the sharks decided to keep , for more than a guy who has played for his country and is a regular starting hooker.

Herman Ese’Ese could still be a casualty for the clubs cap squeeze but it depends on other player movements
- Involves Relying on Levi finding another deal and Guerra finishing his career overseas in 2020
- Moga included but seems less likely
- Next to no room to keep SKD and Hunt but again depends on how much room they can find
- Would have gotten Su’a if it wasn’t for the above
- The good news is Ramiens upgrade is accounted for in the clubs cap space

- Kalyn Ponga was never going to be risked for the Roosters game but club officials are more then happy with his recovery after undertaking a big session

- Dylan Phythian to make his return in the Newcastle Como, hope he gets his life back together

- Hammo won’t be calling games for abc anymore which is disappointing

Seems like Levi is already out the door. As long as we keep SKD, Ese Ese and upgrade DSaf, Ramien, Hunt and Ponga I’m cool. Don’t want much!

Brailey and Watson will do a pretty solid job,
Infact I'd be starting Watson over Levi at Hooker, has really impressed me in the role, a full off season with Bedsy will make him a gun 9 imo.

Watson was basically our best player in the period after Levi went down. Reading between the lines I don't think he sees himself as a hooker though.

Watson said he was enjoying playing hooker and when every one is telling you your playing great there it sorta makes you want to stay . He also said where ever the team needs me so I don't think he cares where he plays that much as long as its a starting role .
I would be starting him at hooker too ..

*Brailey will be here next year.
*Knights are making a play for 2nd rower Kurt Capewell for 2020.
*If they can't get Capewell they will go for Joel Thomson as a stop gap until they can go for a big fish in 2021.
*Mason Lino is lucky there was CCT footage of his incident. A women claimed she was punched in the face, CCT proved it didn't happen.
*Ese looking very likely to sign at the dogs.
*Expecting an announcement on Dan's upgrade in a week or 2.
*Guerra may have to make a move this year if he wants to play in England. If he doesn't play enough first grade games next year for the Knights he will not be eligible to play in England the following year, so next year might be his best chance to play over there.

Can’t understand wanting to sign Capewell or Thompson when we have Guerra (ok he might leave), Fitz, Barnett, sometimes Sione, Fermor and Jones, and we just let Stone leave. Guerra must be going, salary cap?
Turn Ese’ese into a backrower, he is agile enough.

Ugh that Lino story makes me a bit ill, I am glad the club is taking a stance on it and banning the players from these places, because you can't account for other dropkick scumbugs in public wanting to make money off of you. Especially considering it's not really Lino's go to hit a woman.
I wonder if the woman will get punished for falsely accusing a player of assault?
And I wonder how many other stories are like this.

Capewell would certainly be an upgrade on Guerra at this stage of his career, Thompson for Guerra is sideways.

Something has to give with the upgrades we need to hand out not fussed at all if Ese goes, his a good player without being very good and if the Dogs want to break the bank for him more power to them.

Will be gobsmacked if we get Brailey with Levi still on the books.

Well he aint a 5/8 and he wont be fullback here, so for the 500k+ his on, I'd be making him play as many minutes as possible and at starting hooker.
Otherwise I'd shop him around also.

Keep Watson for sure, where ever he goes on the field gives a 110% and comes across as a great clubman too boot, lets not forget him and Ponga are besties as well.

Capewell would be a great signing. Is a definite upgrade on Sione/Guerra/Barnett and can easily fill in the backline
