They wanted a coach that wasnt coaching in the NRL so they could put 100% in it. I believe that Ricky has a line in his contract that states if he gets offered an NRL gig that he can step down from NSW.

Can someone confirm that? Am I on the right track?

I am pretty sure you are close to the mark, and has always stated he wants to coach an NRL team again.

Nooo, i got nothing to back that up.

Good to hear the offer has been resubmitted with "clarification"

Lets hope its good and we can get it out to the members.

Good to know that both sides have resumed talks. Tinkler's dummy spit was a ploy that didn't make the board budge and has actually worked in their favour somehow.

To all the nay sayers that critisized the board for not accepting the original offer of only $10 million, you should be served with a plate of humble pie. The board have played the right hand in this deal and we have Tinkler now coming back for a third attempt at negotiations, which can only be a good thing.

Tinkler has a way of getting what he wants.
With the Knights it's a case of: take the offer or I'll get my highly-paid PR advisers to orchestrate a media campaign to throw you out of office.
Enter Tim Allerton, the managing director of City PR who handles the accounts of many of Sydney's biggest movers and shakers. He also handled Crowe and Holmes a Court's purchase of Souths.
He doesn't allow journalists who talk to Tinkler to grill him about the Knights offer. Interviews are done by email - or not at all.
Enter Richard Fisk, the veteran footy administrator and media man who has spent the last eight weeks leaking negative stories about the Knights to anyone who cares to take his phone calls.

I think the Fisk connection is where the Stuart rumour came from. I have only seen it on SF and someone probably tipped off ZT. Leading from that there are probably from some bitter Sharks fans at Stuart it seems.
No way he would coach a club and Origin at the same time for at least these next 2 years.
 
i think maybe tinkler removing his deal may have been a way for him to test the waters, to see how much support that he has from the fans
 
Tew has received a revised offer from Tinkler group last night and talks are back on.
Those who said it isn't over - good call.
