The pre-season thread - 2022

If Lee gets fit enough to earn a contract he'll want 3 or 4 times as much as Musgrove - and if we offer him minimum wage, his manager will probably be able to find another club who would double that for a SOO winger.
It's tricky with Lee. If he is fit for the whole season he is worth 500k - if he isn't fit he is worth nothing. His real price will be somewhere in the middle of that - depending how lucky we feel.
 
I would be surprised if a guy who just missed a whole season due to an injury which still has question marks over it would be attracting any significant offers at all.

Also not sure I agree with the $500K valuation on the version of Lee which was consistently fit. There’s a lot of much better wingers than him who don’t make that. He’s good, not great.

Yeh he’s lucky we’re giving him an opportunity, letting him train and rehab with us for free this whole offseason. If he’s fit he’ll stay for cheap. Could even offer him 300k if he plays 20 games, 250k for 15 etc.
 
It would be fantastic having Lee and young each on an edge though. If nothings on just kick it either side and that’s a decent option. God knows we could have used that with how impotent we were with ball in hand this year.

If Lee is fit are we assuming Tuala misses out on the other wing spot?

I think Tuala has cemented his spot on the wing and would have him there over Young at this stage do their careers.

He would need a hell of a pre-season. Would have to ply his trade in reserves for a little bit you'd think. Other than Musgrove, Kiraz is the other bloke who's a bit out of nowhere, upgraded from development to top 30. They signed him in the first place though, so they must have some sort of plan for him going forward I guess.
 
The game that impressed me from Kiraz was the one where joey Leilua had been dropped to reserves and had a point to prove.
He started by running hard at Kiraz a few times and Kiraz stopped him dead in his tracks. Joey took the hint and started running at some other kid and got a few easy tries - but Kiraz had his measure in defence.

I have seen kiraz play a few games and thought he does go well

Seems NSW is finally going to let it 'spread'.

Its a flu, time to move on with our lives, survival of the fittest.
 
COVID is a bit more serious than “just a flu”. A proportion of people who contract it are ending up with long term neurological damage - some people who got COVID right at the start still haven’t recovered - the cause of which isn’t at this stage known, and we don’t have any good treatment for it. Now that the premier has basically decided, **** it, let everybody catch it, we should all be praying that we’re the lucky ones for whom it passes quickly.

So if your getting old and not fit anymore or have a health problem to start with then you should just up and die , is that what your saying ... People with an attitude like that can go fk themselves as far as im concerned , see if you have the same attitude when someone you love dies from it ....
 
David Boon is triple vaccinated and has tested positive to Omicron - but says he has no symptoms and only took the test as a precaution.

The politicians have clearly decided to take advantage of a less harmful strain and us being over 90% vaccinated and let it loose in the community.

Being politicians, they'll never admit that's what they are doing, so they can deny it's their fault if it all goes horribly wrong and we start dying like flies.

I'd be OK with it, except that I've been able to get a booster for a week now and because of the holidays I can't get a booking till next week - so I'm locked down for a few more weeks till i've had the booster and given it a week at least to kick in.
 
Everyone gets the flu shots growing up yet we still get the flu throughout our life.

Same thing here. Being vaccinated doesn’t immune you from contracting the illness. Like the flu it just enhances your chances of not getting the full severity of it.

Everyone needs to crack on with life and get used to it. It’s just another flu now. People die from the standard flu when they have underlying issues as well yet that gets no media presence now.

It’s about time the politicians are finally starting to open everything up and move on with life.
