The Grub that is suppose to be "The Best Player in the World"

Take the tap, play out the set, go for a try. NSW get the ball, they play out their set down to FT and kick out of play. Some big aggressive hits get put on. Thats how the game should have ended. But when QLD started mauling NSW players like pieces of meat, and putting cheap shots on, thats not wat RL is about.

Thats exactly right mate. I highly doubt that nsw in qld's situation would put up a bomb and act like deadset lowlifes for the last 2 mins. I lost alot of respect for locky i thought he would of tried to calm things down.

That is a ****ing joke, Thurston is one of the biggest ****ing grubs in the ****ing game but hes the NRL's ****ing golden boy so he gets off easy. How about Nathan Merritt earlier in the year? Didn't hit Reddy in the face but he gets two weeks. Thurston runs over to Williams and deliberately kicks him and gets off with nothing.
.

Exactly!

And Williams suffered a fractured cheekbone from that 'little kick' of his.

What was up with Thurston when Gids was saying to the ref "He kicked Williams in the head". And Thurston fired back 'Shut up you spastic'.

What a Grub.

As if he didnt get suspended.

I hate Thurston so much, supposed to be the "best player in the world" and he goes and kicks someone in the face?

And no commentators will get ****ed off at him and say he was in the wrong because hes a ****ing queenslander and is such a good player. **** that he is a ****ing little girl. Jumps on people when there already tackled and starts punching them in the face. I cant wait for some one to knock his head off, then well say how tough he and the cowboys realy are!

That would be after Gids had him by the throat telling him what he thought of his actions.

Thurston can't even complete a sentence I would be amazed if he could write his own name.

Gids knew the kick at the end was coming and in typical Newcastle fashion he took the hit like a man, If thrurston were in the same position he would have passed it off to someone else.

Can't wait until next year!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, they might as well have called it off with two to go. It was obvious from when Price started swinging that they didn't care about the result anymore, and were so peeved about losing that they just wanted to have an all in brawl.

Exceptional sportsmanship, NSW might have lost the series, but I never saw anything at all like that from them.

Unbelievable that Waterhouse got suspended, and even more unbelievable that Thurston got nothing! I thought he should have been sent! I thought that the NRL said they were taking action against players going in with their feet now? Guess not.

Waterhouse's send off was about the worst decision I have ever seen.

Oh well, at least the world saw what a pathetic bunch of creeps Queensland are. NSW can be proud of how they handled themselves.

If it was Joe Smith a fringe firstgrader, he would have been rubbed out for the season but not Thurston, he's the Golden Boy.

Waterhouse should fight it, he didnt do anything! Being sent off was enough punishment for being the 3rd man in.

Just read that Waterhouse is fighting it.

He should get off, I'm still not really sure what he was sent off for? I've never seen a third man into a fight sent off before. Sin-binned, yes, but not sent off. And certainly not suspended.

If they are saying that he knew Price was knocked out, and went in to try and kill him, or something, then he probably deserves a life ban, not one week!

I think he was sent under the suspision he knocked price out from a king hit from the side. But the replay shows clearly that White knocks price out, the eyes roll back, and a fraction of a second later Waterhouse comes through. Nothing Trent could have done tbh, he was trying to break up the fight, not like he was coming in with a raised forearm, or leading with a fist.

But didn't the video ref view the replay and advice the on-field refs? It was certainly shown on tv before Waterhouse was marched!

Apparently he was sighted and charged for his actions after tackling Price, How he didnt get off him quick enough. Bit hard with 4 or 5 QLDers trying to fight you.

Waterhouse escaped suspension:
Penrith backrower Trent Waterhouse has escaped a suspension on a contrary-conduct charge from the fiery State of Origin finale.

Waterhouse was charged after he became the first NSW player to be sent off in an Origin following an incident with Queensland veteran Steve Price in the Blues' 28-16 win at Suncorp Stadium.

Facing a one-game ban, Waterhouse successfully pleaded his case to the NRL judiciary who found him not guilty of the charge and cleared him to play in the Panthers' game against Canberra on Saturday.

Waterhouse claimed he had merely been trying to break up a fight between Price and Blues prop Brett White when he tackled the Warriors skipper.
A punch from White had knocked out Price an instant before Waterhouse's contact, making the incident look worse than it was.

"You could see on the tape that there was never any malice and I intended to break it up but I think they might have thought I knocked him out," Waterhouse said after the hearing on Thursday.

"You can see on the tape that it clearly wasn't me, it was a punch. Very happy and looking forward to the game on Saturday."

Waterhouse claimed he had been surprised to receive his marching orders and said the fiery clashes between the teams at the end of the match were just part of Origin football.

"I think they thought that I'd headslammed him, I think the referee might have thought that and that's why I got sent off," he said.

"I was quite shocked to get sent to tell you the truth. That's Origin mate, it's tough and it's rough and the crowd love it."

Waterhouse's verdict means no player was suspended from Wednesday's match, with North Queensland's Johnathan Thurston taking an early plea on his dangerous contact charge to avoid any penalty.

Blues skipper Kurt Gidley said to referee Hayne: "He kicked him in the head." Thurston, who was being cautioned, fired back: "Shut up you spastic." It was that type of night from the start.

He is a pr*ck.

He is a pr*ck.

Yeah, I saw that in the DT yesterday as well ... if refs still had any balls he would have been sinbinned right there and then! I can't imagine Bill Harrigan, David Mason, Steve Clark putting up with that.

Calling the opposition captain a spastic right in front of the ref, man, what a ****! He needs a good head kicking if you ask me.

Calling our Gidley a spastic, you mother****er, ohhh would it be sweet if Gidley beat him to the Dally M medal this year.

'Spastic' says the man with hair hanging out of his headgear at all angles and the man with the inability to construct a coherent sentence.
