Tevita Pangai Jnr

Every team needs a lunatic we don't have one ATM.
Fitz is the biggest lunatic I've seen.
I reckon the refs had a meeting in reserve grade and decided that the only way to settle him down once he went into full beserker mode was to send him to the sheds, so every second game he'd spend 10 in the sin bin.
Even when he first came to firstgrade he got binned a few times for almost nothing, just because the refs thought it's the only way to settle the nutter down.
I've seen him lose a game for us by throwing the ball away and punching on because someone said something to him when we were attacking their line. I've also seen the coach hook him after 2 minutes because he got tackled hard in the first tackle of the game and spent the next set trying to take the head off the guy that tackled him.

It seems we are back in the picture as a team after Pangai after we confirmed we are talking to his management.
This is not taking into account handling other players’ deals but they hinted there is zero chance at the moment Herman is released and Griffin getting a new deal would be less likely.

It'd be a shame if Griff doesn't get a contract, him and Glas would really shore up the defence.

I'd like to see some of that lunatic come back Billy. Desperate for someone in our team to show some mongrel. Fitz seems to be playing quite meekly imo.

I don't think Fitz is capable of the type of controlled aggression you see from players like Gallen or Burgess - testing the line, but not going over it too often.
Fitz is either behaving himself or going full nutter.

Garvet is a aggressive player,
Klemmer is also.
We just aint clicking.
Its rd3 give it time.

Brown said he would give Ponga to 5/8 4 or 5 weeks and has now said it might have to change sooner ..Ponga will go back this week or next I would bet and as soon as Watson is fit he will go straight to 5/8 I reckon .
Pearce likes to be the 1 dominant half and Watson is a running 5/8 and I think he and Pearce will work better together . I have seen Lino play a couple of times and he is no slouch either .
If Ese,ese is wanting to go back to NZ for family reasons then let him , id hate to lose him but if his head isn't in the right place (understandable) and he needs to be with family then let him go and throw a heap at TPJ .
The club is already keen for TPJ so if they are going after him then go hard because he's not a bad replacement. I also read somewhere that Alex Glen may be let go due to cap problems at the Donkeys ..
Imo IF we went after Glenn id play him at lock and free Glasby up for the front row but personally I would throw what ever they can at TPJ he is only going to get better.

I’d love TPJ but this is the third time in 12 months we’ve been down this path, sort of feel like that dork at school who keeps hitting on the prom queen but doesn’t get the memo she ain’t into him

Agreed. Although, happy for TPJ and others to use us to negotiate higher amounts with their own clubs, if it means we are then in a better position to poach quality players who are squeezed out due to that club's salary cap constraints.

Brown admitted as much during an interview

TPJ stayed for Wayne Bennett and that didn't work out too well for him. He may end up at Souths potentially?

I can't see us getting him unless we are a team looking like a threat for a premiership possibly.
